Royal Caribbean is a great line for kids and families. It is pretty budget friendly as well. Carnival is also popular for families, but I feel Royal Caribbean is more suited for families and is also a nicer cruise. Freedom of the Seas is the new ship, it is amazing, definitely worth checking into.

Since you are traveling with a younger child, Disney would be a great option as well. They do have a water slide on board, the pools are really great and the kids programs and shows are absolutely wonderful. The 7 year old would have a blast. There are areas specifically for adults if you are worried about too many children onboard.

I hope this helps!

yes!!!!!!......disney is the ultimate cruise......i have been on royal, and carnival and neither one have compared to the disney.....and yes, they do have areas on the boat specifically designated for adults....they have babysitting services....and kiddie camps....so that you can go check out the dance clubs and the private dining for adults only......it is a blast.....it was my favorite...i'm going again in august.....and i can't wait!!!!

Royal Caribbean's megaships and/or Carnival Cruise Lines ships both have what youre looking for. But Royal Caribbean's newest Freedom of the Seas actually has a waterpark on board and is built to be kid friendly while not losing sight of the needs of their parents. Best bet for a megavacation!!

Royal Caribbean or Celebrity.

You will not be disappointed and your seven year old will have tons of children's activities.

Carnival. We just cruised on Celebration and it was AWESOME!

The newer ships on Carnivals line have waterslides, the bigger ships, the ones that start with "Carnival ...." (i.e. Carnival Destiny, Carnival Glory, etc). The only problem is when you're at sea they tend to be super crowded so Id suggest getting on them early in the morning or after u finish shopping on a day in port. Have fun!

Disney cruise is fun.
Carnival Cruiseline has a Camp Carnival and your 7 yr old would have a blast on scavengers hunts, making cookies, hide and seek, singing, parades, going down the water slide, getting cookie and tucked into bed by the mascot,, if u want,,
I see the kids having a good time.

RCCL. CCL and Disney would all be great for kids. As far as waterslides, only CCL has them. Some of the newer RCCL ships have a simulated surf though for surfing.

I have been on 3 Carnival cruises on 3 different classes of ships each with different configurations of slides. The Fantasy class, those built between 1990-98, have slides that will end up in the pool which is 4-4.5 feet deep. The newer ships have slides that just end with no pool. The location of the slides will be the difference between the newer ships. If your 7 yr old is fearful of somewhat deep water, then look for the newer ships. The other lines, I can not help you with since I have never been on the others. Hope this helps.

We just got back from our first Disney cruise and have already booked another. I love a cruise and have traveled with children on many different cruise lines, but Disney has got to be the best. I have a 7 year old and he absolutely adored the cruise. It is safe. Disney knows how to treat the kids and they know how to treat the adults. the 7 year old spent most of his time in the mickey pool that has a huge yellow slide. He loved it. I loved it. The pool isn't so deep that you feel the need to be in it with the children and they have life guards right there. This is not a "chucky cheese cruise". It is a very nice cruise that really works hard at entertaining adults and children. If you want the kids with you, they can be. If you want them occupied while you go about your business, that is great too. You will not be disappointed. A little more pricey, but well worth it.
