1st time on RC need help.? |
I have cruised 6 times with princess and love them. Thought I would give RC a try. We leave in DEC. on Explorer of the Sea any comments? Also on Princess you can buy bottle of liquor from bar (not duty free liquor)and carry it to your room or you can order from room service. I just got off the phone with RC and they said we could not buy at bar. Does anyone know if we can order Bottles from room service? Princess lets you board with wine or sodas ,water. I was told you could not bring anything on RC? is this true? I did not realize cruise lines were so different. Any info on RC would be appreciated also any thing on ship and departing in Miami we have always departed in Ft. Lauderdale. Thanks so much. |

All cruise lines have their individual requirements and rules. You may order wine from room service and it will be delivered to your cabin. If you put bottles carefully in your luggage you most likely will successfully get it on board and can store it in your cabin's fridge. It is done all the time. You can also order drinks from Room Service on RC. If you enjoy wine with your dinner, remember that the cruise lines charge a corkage fee but you can save an open bottle for subsequent meals and the somerlier will bring it back to your table the next time you dine. Cruise lines are in business to make money which is why they dont permit you to "party on your own dime"!! Sodas can be purchased unlimited by buying a cruise card sticker. This allows you to go to any bar on the ship for unlimited sodas. This also comes with a container (identifiable coke or sprite logos) which you can carry all cruise long to refill. Its not cheap but if you are avid soda drinkers its the smart way to go. |

from their website:
ALCOHOL POLICY
Effective as of all sailings commencing on or after July 28, 2006, the minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on all Royal Caribbean International ships is 21.
However, on cruises departing from European and South American countries, where the legal drinking age is typically lower than 21, a parent who is sailing with his or her son(s) and/or daughter(s) who is between the ages of 18 to 20, may sign a waiver allowing the 18 to 20 year old to consume alcoholic beverages.
The 18- to 20 year-old must agree to comply with Royal Caribbean's policies, including among other things, agreeing to not provide alcoholic beverages to any other person, regardless of age. Restrictions apply, and this policy is subject to change without notice.
Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Royal Caribbean's Guest Vacation Policy may be enforced, up to and including disembarkation, if a guest violates any alcohol policy. Guests under the age of 21 will not have alcohol returned to them.
Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Vacation Policys.
Royal Caribbean reserves the right to revoke or otherwise restrict drinking privileges of any guest, regardless of age. |

rc is a great cruise line. u will have a lot of fun. u can bring water on bord but not soda or liquor. u can buy liquor on bord to drink and to take home with u. u r going on a great ship and will have the time of your life. i just came back from a cruise on the ship and it was the best. the sevice is so perfect that the waiter remembered what salad my family liked and what kind of coffee my mom like after dinner. after the 2nd day, she didnt even have to order the coffee, it came to her without ordering and everytime it was correct. u will have a lot of fun! |
