5 people in a stateroom?

Any travel agents out there?
What can a family do if they have 5 prople in their family and want to go on a cruise? We were planning on going on Explorer of the Seas or another Royal Caribbean ship. On their website it says most of the rooms sleep up to 4 but I've heard you can book a 5th but I dont know how.
Thanks

We just got back from a Disney Cruise on the 5th of June. They claim that their staterooms are 25% larger than industry standards. They are still pretty small. I know that cruise lines offer suites that can sleep 5 plus people but I would suggest doing what we did.

We went with 2 staterooms next to each other. One for our 2 girls and the other one for us parents. Cruise ships base their rates on double occupancy of the room so it wasn't much more to get 2 rooms.

It was the best deal we could have done. Our girls were able to do the teen thing til they couldn't stand anymore.

Us parents were able to go back to our room when we wanted. Also the 2 seperate bathrooms was a big plus.

We had said many times while we were on the cruise. There would be no way the 4 of us could have been in one stateroom.

5 people in a standard cabin is way to many. Youll get sick on eachother. But there are family cabins/suits that can handle more. But my best advice is to get 2 cabins next to eachother (some have interlocking doors). That way the 5th passenger could get a very cheap 3rd person occupancy reducing your cost. Another idea is to sea if there is any large suits that can handle five persons (youll probebly need a two bedroom suite) that you can afford. It could be really expencive but it could be a life time experience to travel in a suite. Johan.

what we do on all of our cruises is get 2 rooms, one for me and my sister and one for my parents.
they probably offer ajoining rooms.

on our last cruise my parents got a room with a balcondy and me and my sis got a room directly across from them witch was interior.

TRUST ME, 5 to a room in a 130 square foot room IS NOT FUN!

especially if you have girls.....
haha

good luck!

yah, we learned that the hard way on our first cruise. We are a family of 4, and we got a stateroom that had 2 twin beds and 2 pull down twin beds from the ceiling. The sleeping and stuff was fine, but it was just too cramped....there was hardly even any room to move around.....it was also annoying having to wait on people for the bathroom since they are so tiny.....after our first cruise, we decided from now on to get to staterooms side by side.....my brother and dad sleep in one, and my mom and i sleep in another.....the first time we did that, they weren't adjoining, but on our 3rd cruise they were, and on our cruise in a couple of weeks they will be.....i recommend getting 2 adjoining staterooms, or a Royal Family Suite.....we looked into getting one of those, but by the time we booked our cruise this year, there weren't any left....there are only 4 of them on a ship.

If there are 5 of you then I suggest that you either get two cabins, either side by side or across the hall from each other, OR book a Royal Family Suite. The Royal Family suite has more than enough room for you all. It will cost quite a bit more than single cabin, or two cabins. So you need to look at the ships where the family suite is available and then compare the costs of the suite vs two cabins

Here's a link to the family suite on Royal Caribbean: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cabinclass/cabinTypes/cabinType/home.do;jsessionid=0000Egjg0K7qH4MoH3hf83wS_tN:12hdhu6tq?br=R&cabincls=D&cabinType=FS

book a room for 5 and each nite on tha ship ure room stewart will bring in a roll away bed and take it back in tha morning. or get 2 joining rooms which will cost a bit more but maybe not. depends.
