A group of people going on a cruise have been asked to attend a fundraiser the nite before and the money?
to attend a fundraiser the night before when they are all at the hotel would you want to do that the money is for charity the tour promoter is giving the fundraising party Additional Details the words whet over the first line where i could not see them , so i repeated nyself , i think the idea is clear , a fundraiser by the promoter the night before the cruise at the hotel they are all staying at
if what I read your question is right, I would say hell no. Im not being forced into a charity event right before I am going to spend big bucks on a cruise. The promoter is shameless.

i would stay away. you will meet plenty of people on the cruise without going to the "fundraiser". sounds kind of fishy. i've been on several cruises and have never heard of anything like this.

Sure. It's for charity and gives you a chance to meet some of the people that will be on the boat with you.

Whatever the tour promoter wishes/pledges to give to the charity in question has got nothing to do with the people joining the cruise. That is their own business. But if the cruise had been promoted in conjunction with the charity in question, then the tour promotors must also make it clear to the participants at the time of their booking/registration.
On the other hand, participants can be "invited" to attend the function and "welcome" to make a contribution to help the charity in question.
