Don't pack too much - take out half of what you want to bring! But bring at least 2 swim suits. And one or two nice outfits for the formal nights. Some people go all-out, but you can get away with a nice outfit that isn't fancy.
Drinks are very expensive and the all-you-can-drink soda thing pays for itself in two days. If you drink alcohol budget $200 per person-if it's less you'll be happy but budget for that. Don't forget to read up on the tipping. The staff is usually excellent and very dependent on tips (they pay crap on the boats).
The activities on the boat are usually good for a laugh so attend some of those. Especially if they have a version of the Newlywed Game.
Best advice, relax, have fun, and though the excursions can be expensive do a couple of them at least. If your stop includes Jamaica, definitely take the excursion to Ocho Rios to hike the waterfall, it's so much fun! And snorkle at the best snorkle stop (probably Playa del Carmen).
One of my favorite things on one of my cruises was not doing an excursion at one of the stops; for the same price we rented a car and drove around to all the beaches we wanted to see on St. Maartin (that was an eastern Caribbean cruise). Maybe you'll want to do the same if you have a similar stop.
And last, don't buy anything you can't get at home. there are several shopping outlets along the way but I've found better deals on jewelry at home unless it's handmade and you love it.
Oh, and don't forget your shades and wear sunscreen! At least SPF 15 til you have your tan, then you can go with 8 or 4 if you're dark.
Have a great time! |

I went on a similar trip a few years ago - don't over pack because we spent most of our time in shorts and swimsuits and the cabin space is really small. Also bring some motion sickness meds, I never experienced that until I went on the cruise. Bring traveler's checks, the ship will cash them for you, taking a lot of cash is unwise. Lots of sunscreen - the energy from the sun is a lot greater there.
The most fun I ever had was para-sailing you can make arrangements for this through the ship or on your own when you dock at an Island.
Have fun - don't drink too many run runners :~) |

there is too much to do to read and watch DVD's. Waste of luggage space to take them.
In Belieze (it is a tender port- boat ride from ship to dock) It is a really fast boat. if you get sea sick, take extra meds before getting on this small boat.
We do our own thing. but I have heard that Cave Tubbing in Belieze is excellent.
is this yoru first cruise? If so, don't over pack. take about 1 outfit per day, 2 formal outfits for women (men can wear the same suit both formal, excuse me it is no ELIGANT nights) take about 3 swimsuits. wear comfortable shoes for walking. take a battery powered alarm clock with you. The cell phones will change time if you use them in the ports. Make sure you keep a watch set to ship time, and be back to the ship at least 30 min before it is scheduled to sail.
It will be HOT. so don't take a jacket unless you have a tendency to get cold in 76+ temps. I do recommend you take a light sweater or wrap for the dining rooms, and theater.
Other than that, Have a wonderful time.
Relax, enjoy the onboard activities, mini golf, shuffle board, vollyball (on some ships), ping pong, and the arcade.
Get a fountain fun card if you drink a lot of soda 45$ per person for adults.
Enjoy your cruise. Ours is 29 days away. Oct. 25. can't wait. we are doing eastern however. |

if you want to do an excursion on shore - like snorkeling or a tour or something don't buy on the ship. once you get there just get off and there will be local companies with the same thing for much cheaper. |

My biggest piece of advice is have fun. relax, don't try to do everything, save some for the next trip. don't pack too much. we didn't do any excursions, too expensive. we just walked around port towns and took in the different culture, talked to people, ate local cuisine. do take sunscreen and burn gel. have a blast.. |
