After Cruise symptoms?

I returned from a short (1week) cruise in the Med on Wednesday and I am still feeling a bit 'whooshy headed' like I am still at sea. This was the first time I have been on a cruise..... is this feeling normal & how long will it last............I'm feeling pappy & tired most of the time now!

It will ease off eventually. Last year I went on a coach trip to EuroDisney. I had a really crap time and spent hours on a really smelly dirty coach. When we got home, finally, I could feel the motion of the coach for quite ages afterwards. Hope you feel better soon. xx

tbugs
No problem. It is just the inner ear adjusting to being back on land and not having any rocking motion. It will go away in a few days.

As for being tired, that is just normal after a vacation. You need a rest before getting back to work.

get urself some travel sickness pills either
sealegs or travella they are both good .

Your body is probably still getting adjusted to being back on land. I know the biggest cruise symptom I get is withdrawal from the dining room.

My husband and I went on a Greek cruise in April (we live in the US) for 9 days and for about 3 days afterwards we both felt "whoosy" too. It went away after the 3 days though. It's just getting your land legs back.

Yes that feeling is quite normal, may last a few more days. You know how they say, when you get your sea legs, well its like that when you are back on solid ground.

My father was in the Royal Navy - he told me of a time crossing the Bay of Biscay in a storm; all around him people were being sick. He was OK and was commended for helping other unfortunate sailors.
They reached their destination, anchored offshore and went ashore in small boats; as soon as Dad stood on dry land, he said everything started spinning and he "brought his boots up"!
It is also said that Lord Nelson was seasick every voyage!!
I am a canal boater and found that if I went into a small building like a Marina office after getting off the boat, the office continued to rock. You do get over it.

Can also be all the over eating!

Never met anyone who has been on a cruise and didn't say
"I ate too much".

Just returned from a cruise and as usual the bathroom scales are lying by 6lbs!

the only symptom I got is the re-booking syndrome, gotta go again, and have my 3rd planed for Sept!!!

If you are really not feeling well as your doctor, it may have nothing to do with the cruise

Sea sickness is one of the worst feelings. My suggestion would be to spend 5 or so minutes deep breathing, thinking about nothing but the sea. Let all thoughts of water crash through your mind. After this, do some more deep breathing and think about anything about the sea. If you start thinking about anything related to the ocean or a boat, close your eyes and visually see yourself pushing it away from you. The best thing to do right now would be to aviod things that remind you of a cruise-even advertisments, if you see one on T.V., change the channel. If you have time, spend some time just looking out your window, getting used to being on land again. I hope this helps!

P.S. Maybe take a nap too, if you have time? And yes, this would be very normal. It shouldn't last too long though. A few days tops!

Feel better.

i felt the same way after a long day on the canal on a cabin cruiser. my girlfriend and i were in a pub and we couldn't help but sway slightly. and before you ask this feeling was there before we started drinking!!
i think the sensation may be caused by the fluid in your ear that helps with balance. much like when you spin round and round and then stop you still feel like the room is turning.

p.s. you could always ask nicole kidman or penelope cruz!!!

Congrats on your frist cruise!!

Feeling like you are still out to sea is very common. Just like if you were to go roller skating for a long period of time, later you still feel like you are on the skates!

Sypmtoms can last for 3-7 days depending on how long you were on the boat. Nothing to worry about. Feeling a little tired is also normal, even though you had a "relaxing" cruise you still probably got involved in the activities on board as well as the off shore excursions. If you start to feel sick or experience any other symptoms, then I suggest consulting a doctor.

After my first cruise I was sitting across from my mother at dinner, and we could actually see each other rocking back and forth!!
