Alaska cruise questions...?

I have taken over 20 cruise/tours to Alaska. I have been on the diamond. I am not one that pays much attention to the ship as I am more interested in ports of call. Food & service was excellent. I normally eat in the buffet for more selections. Never had a crowd in any given area of the ship.
Weather i have seen on here many say it rains alot however of all the times i have been there it only rained once between ports 7 only lasted afew hours.
Princess is well know for their cruise/tours. They are the only cruise that puts you up in 5 star lodges.
Denali National Park is AMAZING. Make sure you trip includes free tour inside the park. Once there you stand outside your lodge and a tram picks you up and takes you were you want to go. Great food. Across the street a small plaza great for souvenirs.
Also get the land tour that includes the Stern Wheeler River boat cruise in fairbanks.
Weather average in the 70's during the day & 50's at night.
Also you can type in the name of the ports of call like Ketchikan, Juneau, Fairbanks and they will show you the average temps for that area.
A Great choice.
Like anything some like Princess or Royal Caribbean etc. & others like another.

I have never been in an Alaskan cruise, but I'd like to go with you if possible !!

Sorry, we took Alaskian cruise once and that was plenty, never again!
I've lived on the west coast and worked all through that area for over thirty years.
I just couldn't find anything interesting. But I'd been there before.
The weather was OK but it it wasn't swimming weather.
The scenery is nice, but I've seen it before.
I wish I could be more positive, but, Sorry.
To me vacations need heat and lots of it. When the ship nosed up to the glacier we all froze.

I have been on the Diamond Princess and it is a top notch ship. The staff is absolutely great and the food is outstanding. My second cruise was a cruise/tour to Alaska. We started in Fairbanks, then took the train to Denali. I never experienced long lines at any time, except when boarding the ship. This was in June, though. Our ship was full, so I don't see what difference it would make in June or July. The biggest difference is in July, you need mosquito repellent more then at other times, but that is it. This year, I am going again from San Francisco to Alaska, but in August. Sometimes when you read reviews, you have to take them with a grain of salt. People rarely will take the time to make a review about the great things, but only the bad things. I have noticed this even in cruise critic. All I can say is I love Princess and I would not have stayed with them all these years if they were not a great cruise company. BTW, they are rated tops for there Alaska cruises.
