Any advise for taking a 3 year old on a med cruise, including Egypt? (please don't say 'don't do it' :)

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
All of the cruise lines have programs for kids on board the ship. The age groups usually start at age 3 so you will have options for keeping your kid occupied each day. You may want to also check to see if the cruise line that you consider/pick has baby sitting services so you can go out some nights. Some ships have it but I am not sure if all do.

You need to pick your land tours and excursions very carefully because some, like to Rome and in Egypt, are a long way from the port and generally all day. Consider how your 3 yr old will react to being on the move all day long.

Then expect some people to be pissed at you for bringing a kid along. Just be prepared to ignore them.

What is a "med" cruise?

Watch an episode this week called "Samantha Brown: Great Cruise Weekend". I've seen it before and she gives a lot of great advice, such as don't book a room right in the back or front of the ship otherwise you will hear a lot of noise.

It's on the Travel Channel, June 26th 11 am ET.

Hope this helps!

Make sure you take lots of activites/games she likes. Coloring books and jumbo crayons are nice and could keep a 3-year-old busy for awhile. You could buy a few easy board games such as CandyLand (if you don't allready have them) and age appropriate puzzles. Take her favorite toys that don't make a lot of noise, because they could disturb other people. Have fun on your cruise---sounds fun!

My advice: have fun and use your common sense
