Yes I have cruised on Celebrity and have another Celebrity cruised booked right now. You will find that the food, service, staff, and everything will be much better on Celebrity than on Disney or Carnival. Celebrity is an upscale classy cruise line that generally caters to more mature cruisers than go on Carnival. Most cruisers will be in the 35 to 65 age range, probably about the same ages as your parents. But it has been my experience that people in that age group love to have a good time as well as younger people do.

It appears that you will be cruising on the Celebrity ship, Mercury. You can look at that ship's features right on line:

http://www.celebritycruises.com/search/vacationDecks.do;jsessionid=0000WXj1YrjIxLEnhK8SNDmOGHQ:12hdebdrn?packageCode=MR15H009&sailDate=1081219&shipCode=MR&backPageName=Itinerary+Search+Results

Celebrity, like other cruise lines has a kids program for those ages 3 through 17. And this ship actually has a room just for teens. But there is really no way to tell how many teens will be on the ship when you sail. Typically cruises longer than 7 days don't have as many kids as shorter ones.

Your cruise will have a lot of "at sea" days as you spend 4 days cruising "to" Hawaii and then another 4 days cruising back. So I suggest that you plan on amusing yourself with the activities on board like the gymnasium, the pools and hot tubs, the walking/jogging track, and maybe the internet cafe. The ship will have a game room with table games provided and every evening there will be a show that you can attend. You may want to take a book or two to read and for sure take your MP3 music player. You may meet some teens to hang out with but if you do not you can be prepared to do things you like on ship. You will have a great time.

A two week cruise around Hawaii is very nice - but you may find yourself lacking in the social department.

Chances are - even at Christmas break - that there will not be many younger people on board.

Celebrity is head and shoulders above Disney and Carnival. Naturally, you will not be allowed to drink alcohol on any cruise - and will not be allowed alcohol in port since Hawaii is a state. You will not be allowed to gamble in the casino on the ship. You will be allowed to eat all the wonderful food and the never-ending array of high calorie desserts - so be prepared to gain several pounds in two weeks.

I was on a Celebrity cruise last year in the Caribbean and I loved it. It was very classy with a great mix of people (but mostly older).

You'll most likely see a pretty good group of kids your age on the ship. There aren't many young kids, i.e. toddlers and the such. At least not the cruise I was on. And Celebrity has some great programs for teens so you'll have a good time.

Cruising in general is tons of fun. As some of the others above said, you'll most likely be spending a lot of time at sea, so do consider bringing a book, mp3 player, etc. Take advantage of the things onboard, i.e. the free entertainment, events, etc. Have fun!

Celebrity is a great line. However, they do tend to skew a bit older, partly because they are more "traditional" and a bit higher quality. A two-week cruise will also tend to skew the passenger ages higher, although at Christmas there will probably be more families and kids than would be the norm on that length cruise.

You can get lots of info on cruising at CruiseCritic.com. Click on "Boards", then go to your favorite topics. You might also want to click on "Reviews", especially "Member Reviews" for your ship.

Have a great time!

There's always a great mix of age groups on cruises - lots of kids, old people, couples, groups of friends, families etc....i'm sure you'll find people your age to hangout with!
