Anyone been on an Alaskan Cruise in end of July or Early August?
I have heard from a couple people, that during that time, their 'busy' seas is over and some towns shut down, so when you get into port, there isn't much to do. Is this the case? What is the weather like during that time?
July and August are actually in the middle of the season and the warmer months, so nothing to worry about that!

Whoever you heard that from is wrong. The towns do not shut down as most stores there are open all year. Alaska does alot of business during the winter months. Weather wise average around 70 to 75. So if you are planning on going go and ENJOY.
