Anyone been on the Carnival Glory and can answer question about room sizes with family? |
I'm taking the family (4 including me) on a cruise on the Carnival Glory and need to know if I really have to get two rooms. I was going to go for an Ocean View room. Anyone have experience? Are there any family-size rooms so I don't have to spend for a whole extra room? I heard from someone Ocean view rooms on the Spa Deck are bigger, or have more accommodations for families or something. Any thoughts? I'm obviously a first-time cruiser. |

On the Carnival Glory a family of 4 can share the same room or get connecting rooms. The choice is yours. There is no classification of family size staterooms on the Glory though. There are Oceanview statrooms on the Spa deck which feature floor to ceiling windows but these are not larger than the regular oceanview rooms. A family of 4 can select Interior, Oceanview, Balcony, or a Suite and each will accomodate them. If this is your first cruise then I would suggest going with a view! The oceanview staterooms are the best deal. They offer a spacious layout and a 4ft picture window. The oceanview staterooms are 220 square ft. The Interior are 185. The Balcony rooms are 185 and 220 if you count the outside balcony. The suites of course are much bigger. There is a hidden gem that only some know about and these rooms book up fast but you may want to ask about them Category 9A Balcony Staterooms are slightly larger and offer twice teh amount of balcony space (you can see category 9A Balcony locations on ship deck plans) The oceanview staterooms offer plenty of room to walk around without bumping into one another and plenty of room to store all that luggage for 7 days (remember the luggage). So if you are going for the best value and space for your family then I would definatlely go with the oceanview room. You can see the room layouts, photos, and virtual tours by visitng Carnival's webite at http://www.carnival.com click on fun ships, glory, and click on either staterooms or virtual tours. If you need any further information or advice for booking this trip then I would be happy to help feel free to email me through Yahoo Answers if you need assistance. |

Almost all of the rooms are 185 square feet. The rooms consist of 2 lower beds and 2 upper beds or 2 lower beds, a couch bed and a roll away. I have cruised alot and unless they are real little kids I reccomend 2 state rooms. |

you don't mention the kids ages but i have taken our family of 4 and one room was fine.....its was a little tight and we decided to not put the 2 beds together and instead everyone sleep in a twin (2 twins, 2 bunks) your suitcases fit under the bed so there's plenty of floor space but you really aren't in the room that much that its crowded......you will have to take turns with the bathroom and shower in shifts but at least you don't run out of hot water...lol......you'll be fine |

A balcony is smaller than an ov... the ov is comfortable for 4 persons, but not very. The family cabins are somewhat bigger and hold 4 people comfortably. But they go fast. We been trying to get one on all 3 of our cruises, and they are always sold out by the time we book. You could get a suite.
We did a balcony with 3 people our first cruise and it was cramped. YOU may want to check out cabin 1001. it is a lot larger, also a handicap cabin, but has more space, a sofa bed, a king bed, and a pull down bunk (upper) The bathroom is also bigger so that you and your wife could be in there at the same time if need be to save some time.
email me, and I will send you a good person to talk to about the cabins. He has been my pvp for 3 years now. and we have booked 5 cruises through him and will not deal with anyone else.
When are you planning on sailing? that also has to do with how much you will pay. Do you want to go Eastern Caribbean (st. Thomas, and St. Maarten and nassau) or Western (Belieze, Cozumel, and Rotan and nassau or freeport)?

if your children are old enough.. i would suggest getting your room across from there's. They should not get a balcony just a interior room. You and your husband could get a balcony room across from them. |

You should be fine. I've been on like all of the Carnival Cruises, haha. There is a queen sized bed, and then there is two pull downs, they are really comfortable. You dont need much room, because you are basically only gonna be in there to sleep! You will have so much stuff to do, you wont even be in your room. Haha, i love cruises, and have fun on your first cruise! IT WILL ROCK! |

Based on the details of your questions I gather you like your space. I recomend the larger and at least with oceanview stateroom. The length of your cruise also counts. For a short one, you will spend a lot of time out of the cabin attemting to not miss a single spot of your cruise and activities. But to do a more educated decision here is a link that I hope works, that will give a virtual tour of Carnival Glory's cabins.
