Anyone had a bad experience on Norwegian Cruise Line?

I didn't like Norwegian in comparison to other cruise lines. We had an outside cabin- unfortunatly under the jogging track so every morning at 5am we would awake to THUNK THUNK THUNK- people jogging! And you would hear all the carts they use to transport the food into all the restaurants at midnight. When I went to complain hoping to get another cabin (I knew the ship was only half full) we were told we are more than welcome to get off at the next port and fly home. The next port was Belize- where would get a flight home to Miami without paying a million dollars?
BUT- we didn't spend too much time in the cabin- we liked the freestyle dining- and we thought the crew was great!
I have not been on NCL since but I would do it again- this time making sure we aree not sleeping underneath the jogging track! LOL

Which ship were you on? My experience was wonderful with them. I was on the Norwegian Star.

To answer your question: NO! We have cruised on Norwegian 11 times. We have also cruised on 7 other lines. I must say, Norwegian is our favorite for the price. We love the "free style dining" and the crew has always been great. Now I have heard since Norwegian has started the new Hawaii cruises, and can only hire US citizens, that the prices have gone way up and the service stinks. I would suggest you try another cruise on Norwegian. You might be surprised.

Hi All!

I am a cruise/travel agent. It has baffled me over the years how clients either love NCL or hate it.

I had one guy tell me that they put the same brown sauce over every entree at dinner and I heard other experiences like Antonio's but then I have also heard plenty of compliments like Pebble and Bill's.

It really seems to be irregardless of the ship. I wonder if the only real problem is that the food is less than other cruiselines. Bill, Pebble, are y'all "foodies". I would imagine Bill, with 7 lines under his belt, knows a good cruise from a bad one but what are his interests? What does Pebble like to do? Is it that NCL's strengths are what they expect from a cruise?

Smellslike..seemed to dislike most everything. I ask these questions to understand. No other CL evokes such a response. Help me understand.

Any insights?

Oh, and smellslike, go on another cruise. They are one of the best ways to vacation out there. Just find an agent that pairs you up with a ship and itinerary that suits you.
