For our homenymoon, my soon-to-be husband and I would like to go on a cruise! We dont want to pay a ton of money and not get our moneys worth. We want a good room with a good view at a reasonalbe price. Any info about cruises would be great ,especially if you have gone on one first hand. I have been on about 20 cruises on 4 different cruise lines and based on that I recommend Celebrity, Princess and Royal Caribbean, pretty much in that order. All three have great ships, exquisite foods, great staff and service. I have been on all three multiple times. If you want to be with an older crowd of people (like mid-50's and older) then add Holland America to the list. Here are some more tips.
To get the best price book very early and that means 9 to 12 month before when you want to go, or even earlier than that. Prices go up as the cruise date gets close. Also be flexible with your cruise date and consider dates a few weeks or even months after your wedding to see if the price is lower. Many times the same cruise will be different prices on different dates. Also, go to the cruise line web sites and look at their specials (they all have specials listed) and see if one will fit what you want to do.
Do book a balcony cabin as it will make your cruise experience much better. For example, you can order the free room service and have your meals on your private balcony. The lowest priced cabins advertised will always be the inside cabins; no window, no porthole. Don't believe those people who say book an inside cabin because you will not spend any time in your cabin, and thus an upgrade to and outside cabin with a window or balcony cabin is a waste of money. The real deal is if you book an inside cabin its true that you will not stay in the room much because its like sitting in a closet. BUT, on the other hand, if you have a balcony you WILL spend time enjoying the room, just like you spend time enjoying a good hotel room. That floor to ceiling window in the balcony cabins makes all of the difference in the world to your cruise experience. Just think of the things you can do on your own private balcony .................... |

I've been on 8 cruises with Princess and they were all great, not one single complaint. They are a classy cruise company, but if your on a tighter budget, then go Carnival. They are after all, the same company. |

ive been on carnival and norgewin they are both fine
i think i liked norgewin just a tad bit more becuase i was over 21 and on carnival when i went it was 18
but find a trip with a lot of ports of call
and they are pricey but nice and fun |

Royal Caribbean is wonderful for the money. Not sure when your honeymoon is, but if you can go in the off-season it will save a bundle. |

Everyone who cruises will have an opinion but mostly, an opinion that is right for them!
All the cruise lines are the best! For someone! So without information such as your age, interests, when you are getting married (congratulations by the way), where you live (you have to factor getting to embarkation port cost also), and other factors, it is really not possible to give you good advice.
Sounds like you have never cruised before so the best advice is to work with a professional cruise specialist (even more than a genral travel agent). Once they get to know little about you and the things I said above, they will find you the best value for you budget and be able to recommend a cruise that is right for you.
Tinkertoy said some very wise things about inside cabin vs. balcony cabins. It's your honeymoon! Don't cheat yourself into just a nice honeymoon, make it a great memorable one!
I've been on 7 or 8 cruise lines and 35 cruises or so in 10 years (with 4 booked already for this year). Work with a professional and you will not be dissapointed.

For a young couple on their honeymoon and on a bit of a budget, I would look at Carnival, Royal Caribbean or Norwegian cruise lines. Although all three are fantastic and should be checked out concerning all current amenities, Carnival has always been the choice for the the "younger" crowd. Be wary of the time of year you go on your cruise or you may find yourself on a Spring Break type of cruise. Norwegian and Royal Carribean are a bit more sophisticated typically attracting the older and romantic folks, but have great service and atmosphere. I would suggest looking at all of these cruise lines (and then some) and have the two of you choose what might fit you best. Make sure whoever decide to go with that you go for special deals and upgrades. You definitely will want a balcony! Either cruise line you two go with, have fun!. |

The only cruise I have ever been on was on Norwegian Cruise Lines NCL. We went to Hawaii. It was clean and no formal attire was required. Our room has 2 double beds in it, but they pushed them together and put king sheets on it and it was perfect. Our room had a balcony with sliding glass doors. We enjoyed the cruise immensely. No gambling on the Hawaii cruise, though. I was disappointed in that. |

I took a Princess Cruise (Eastern Carribean) and it was fantastic!!! Most rooms have Private Virandas (unlike Holland which only has windows). I highly recomend Princess!! Have fun!! |

Royal Caribbean is the most well known cruise line but it can get pretty price-y. |
