Are Royal Caribbean Cruises all-inclusive? What do i have to pay for once on board?

You will have to pay for sodas and all alcoholic drinks. Also if you want to eat in the specialty restaurants or attend certain on board events ie. martini or wine tastings, you have to pay a fee. Spa services and certain classes like yoga are extra also. And of course you pay for your own excursions and onboard shopping.

You actually pay cash for nothing, everything goes onto your sea pass account. Except for the casino, you cannot give them cash if you wanted to, they will not take it. You will have to pay for any alcoholic drinks you buy. You will have to buy a soda pass or pay for sodas. You will pay for bottled water, but not fountain water or water by the glass. Anything you buy from any of the onboard ship stores like the Duty Free store, jewelry store, gift shop etc. are charged to your sea pass card. Certain food items you will have to pay for seperately like a Ben and Jerrys ice cream on the promenade. If you want to dine in the specialty restaurants like Chops, Johhny Rockets or Portofino's, they will charge you a seating fee, you pay for that. Any excursions you buy either before you leave, or during your trip you will be charged for. Gambling in the casino is the only place you can spend cash, but you can charge a cash advance to your sea pass card. You will pay extra for special services like having a suit dry cleaned or a shirt pressed at the ships laundry. Some events are extra as well such as the Bingo games and other specialty events. If you want a massage, you pay extra, if you want to use the golf simulator, you pay extra. You also pay extra for any photos they take that you want. You pay extra to use the internet. The all inclusive means you get your room and free room service, you get all of your meals for free except the special seating charge for the specialty restaurants, you get water, juices, coffee, tea for free. You can use any of the other ships facilities and see the shows, use the pools and gym etc those are all included. For a 7 day cruise, plan on spending an extra $700 per person on extras charged to your room. Also, any shoping you do at any ports of call are paid for by credit card or American Dollars, you cannot use your sea pass in those shops. Tips are also not included. You will be given the option to charge their recommended tip amounts to your sea pass card or use the envelopes provided to give a CASH tip in the appropriate amounts. Typically, $50 for your room conecier, $50 for your main watier, $25 for assistant waiter, and $10 for the head waiter. If you liked your liqour conecier from the sit down dining room, you can add a few bucks gratuity on the last day to his bill. The same applies for any bartenders you liked and wanted to tip. A mention about tips.... Everything service related you buy or do will include a gratuity of 15%, you cannot remove this. This gratuity goes into a general gratuity fund and is distributed equally amongst that group of staff. IE: Bartenders, Room stuarts, waiters etc. Each tip automatically appled to a bar type purchase is pooled into the bartenders pool and distributed amongst all bar tender staff at the end of the cruise. However, if you liked Samauel who served you your drinks at dinner each night and wanted to tip him, you can slip him a $20 or, add $20 to that last receipt and he will get ALL of that $20. Additional gratuities given all go to that person specifically not into the pool.

went on Royal Caribbean in Feb. and we had to pay for alcohol, excursions, on board shopping, spa treatment, sodas, pictures, so you do have to pay for some stuff and the casino of course

When you arrive at the port to check in you (each passenger) will receive a key card which will serve as your room key, charge card for anything you buy on ship (i.e.,drinks, souvenir) and its also your pass to get on and off ship in each port. They will set up a on-ship charge account and everything that you have to pay for while on ship goes onto that account. At the end of your cruise they will charge your credit card, OR you have the option of paying off your tab in cash.

The things that you pay for:

-All alcoholic beverages (beer, wine & hard liquor) and the fancy mixed drinks even if you tell them to make it virgin (no alcohol).

-All soft drinks and bottled water; whatever is in the mini-bar refrigerator in your cabin. Coffee, tea (hot & cold) juices, punch and lemonade are free.

-A gratuity or service charge if and whenever you eat in one of the specialty restaurants (usually about $10 to $15 a person each time) No charge for using the main dining room, the buffets, room service (you should tip the person who brings room service food). At Johnny Rockets it is $5.00.

-Photos; the cruise line staff will take photos all over the ship, but mainly on formal nights and as you get off the ship in ports. They will also take photos in the dining rooms. You have to pay for these IF you want them. BUT, you are NOT required to buy them.

-Souvenirs from ship's gift shops; there will be several gift shops and a duty free shop on ship and they will set up tables for special sales. Anything you want from these you pay for and it goes on your tab.

Tours; if you sign up for ship sponsored tours you pay for them on your cruise card tab.

Casino; your ship will have a casino with slots and table games. You need to take cash for this, but you can also go to the window in the casino and get cash on your cruise card.

Gratuities; at the end of your cruise you will receive a form to pay gratuities to your cabin steward, your waiter and assistant, and the MatreD. This will be approximately $10 a day per person. On Royal Caribbean ships they give you the option of putting this on your tab, or paying cash (they will provide envelopes to give to each.

You will need to pay for alcohol,soda,cigarettes,no free liquor at the casino,pictures taken, meds delivered from the infirmary if you are sea sick, bottled water/bottled pop that is in your room if you open. There's also areas that you can purchase scrumptious desserts and specialty coffee. Also the tips that are added on. If you ask for room service a tip is expected.

i love royal carribean cruises!!! they were super fun, but u had to pay for stuff...all alchoholic beverages were payed for seperatly(on the ship)...the part that i thought was a rip off was that you had to pay if you wanted soft drinks as well...at the beginning of the cruise, they have a table set up where you pay $4 per day per person...for example, if you go on a 7 day cruise and you have 2 people, then you would pay $ 56 for your whole trip and get 2 souvineer cups...or you could do what we did...pay for one person and only get one souvineer cup...you just have to be discreet about it... good luck and have fun

Check out their website for tipping policy. It is usually about $10.00 + a day per person. Most ships now automatically bill your card unless you give a different amount.

Everything except alcohol is included. Ask about soda, that may or may not be included. Here's a little tip also, bring a few huge bottles of water too, they will charge you an arm and a leg for it but you can bring it on with you. We did that. The gift shop obviously you have to pay for, shore excursions, the casino you have to use money. All the meals and on board activities are include. Man do they feed you though. 24 hour room service....plan on gaining 5 pounds at least!
