Several cruise lines offer cruises to the Mediterranean including Princess, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Celebrity and Norwegian. We cruised the Med a couple years ago on Royal Caribbeans ship Brilliance of the Seas. It was a 12 day cruise that had 3 stops in Italy, 3 in Greece, one in Turkey and one in France. That was a EASTERN Mediterranean cruise and you really need to look at the different offering by cruise lines because not all itineraries are the same. Our cruise started in Barcelona, Spain and was round trip back there. But there are some Med cruises which start in Venice or Rome and are one way.
I suggest that you go to the cruise line web sites I mentioned about and select Med cruises and look at all of their offerings and eliminate the itineraries that you are not interested in, maybe because they don't include a country you want to visit.
We have also just book a WESTERN Mediterranean cruise for this November on an NCL ship. It also starts in and returns to Barcelona but goes to a couple ports in Spain, and then Portugal, the Canary Islands, Morocco, and Gibraltar. This is a cruise that is markedly different from the normal and it is also a 12 day cruise. Here's a link that includes this Western Med cruise and some others: http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/destination/itineraries.html?shipCode=&destinationCode=EUROPE&subDestinationCode=EUROPE.MEDITERRANEAN&duration=12 |

Zillions of them. Just do a web search. All you have to do is enter "Mediterranean cruises" in the search bar and tons of sites pop up. Or call a travel agent. |

Yes, all most all the major cruise lines go to the Mediterranean during the summer. Here are a few websites listings ...

Princess does an excellent job of cruising the Mediterranean. Try their website. |

The best prices that I have found overall are from www.cruisequick.com.
HOWEVER they do not hold your hand. What I mean is that you need to know what cruise you want, what ship, date and category. You cannot call them, they do not answer a phone.
They are internet based only, completely legitimate, and offer a bonus or discount that most other agents don't offer.
They work on a flat fee profit and are completely automated.
They do answer emails promptly.
Their site explains how they work. I have used them for years, without any problems. They offer free price quotes via email that include all port fees, taxes etc.
Happy Cruising ! |

Certainly! This is my specialty. Just about every cruise line offers cruises in the Mediterranean. The season generally runs from late April to early November and the itineraries range from 7 days to 25 days.
I also recommend flying into the embarkation city to arrive at least a day or more prior to boarding and spending a day or more in the disembarkation port before returning home. Otherwise, you'll only see the stretch of the city from the airport to the port. Flying into the embarkation city at least a day before arrival also assures you that you won't "miss the boat" due to weather, scheduling, or mechanical problems in traveling.
Ships have a variety of itineraries and I'd recommend determining which ports would interest you, then finding an itinerary that would offer the majority of those ports. Generally, the lines offer eastern Med (Greece & Turkey),
western Med (Spain & France - sometimes western Italy) or an itinerary that would include just Italy (Venice to Rome, etc). Some lines also offer sailings that do the Mediterranean ports on the N. African coast.
Do you want to sail on a mass market ship w/ a lot of people (Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival, Holland-American) or would you like sailings on a cruise with only a few hundred passengers (SilverSea, Regent, SeaDream, Oceania, Seabourn), or would you like a sailing ship (Windstar, Windjammer, Sea Cloud)? Most people don't realize what a variety of cruise ships are available.
If you'd like to discuss further, I'd be glad to offer you my expertise at no obligation. You can reach me toll free at 866-485-8175. I'll look forward to hearing from you soon.
Bon Voyage! |
