The prices listed for cruises are for the whole trip. The price that you'll see is listed as "double occupancy". what that means is if you're cruising by yourself, most likely you will have to pay double, because the cruises charge you 2 full fares per cabin plus half for any additonal people(normally no more than 4-5 people).
http://vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=21047
In this case, it is $599 for the cheapest inside cabin, based on DOUBLE occupancy. Let's say you are traveling with 4 people. The first two people will be charged $599 EACH,so the total for the first two people would be $1198. For the third and fourth person, they will be charged about half of the $599. Just for the third & fourth person, it will be an additional $599, for the two of them, the total being $1797.
Hope this helps!! |

Most cruise ships such as Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Carnival charge you one flat fee for each person, but it is biased on double occupancy meaning they expect more then one person per cabin. All your food is included. Alcohol, sometimes soda and ice cream, plus tips and shore excursions are extra. The charge you see in the pamphlets or on line is for the whole cruise. I have found that it is cheaper to go on a cruise then to go on your own to say like Hawaii, or Mexico or the Caribbean. Plus, you don't have to worry about driving, or where to eat each day. That is why cruises are so relaxing. |

Generally, it is for the whole trip. You might have a few that list it per night but I believe that most cruise lines price it per trip. |

Most of the time a straight cruise that hops from port to port tells you the cost of that cruise (whether it be 5, 7, or ??? days). It is per person, based on double occupancy, meaning you have to have at least 2 people in a cabin.
I just booked a cruise on NCL (Norwegian Cruise Lines) where the first two were normal price and the 3rd and 4th were only $109 each.
My suggestion is to pick a fleet/cruise line you are interested in, sign up for emails and watch for great deals. You can also go to http://www.vacationstogo.com/emailtick.cfm for deals, but there it will be the same cost for each person, no matter how many.
Oh, most cabins have a limit on how many people can be in each kind of cabin. |

Well, not all of the answers are correct thus far, but they are in the general ball-park.
Many upscale cruise lines list PORTIONS of a cruise so people can stay over longer or make other arrangements. Others have major segments or you must arrange for the entire trip, it depends on the company.
The LEAST price will be from the initial departure port to the first stop. Probably most cruises, if not all, have a round-robin route, meaning they rarely come to the same port twice. But some DO !!!!! For instance, and this is entirely hypothetical, one cruise may leave Savannah Georgia and go to Nassau as the first stop, then to Santiago for the next stop, then to San Juan, Saint Georges, Caracas, Barranquilla, back to Kingston and then to Savannah. They may allow you to purchase a ticket round trip from Savannah to Kingston without the rest of the trip.
Per night charges I believe are only if a trip is cancelled midway through the trip at no fault of the passengers, such as a sudden major storm in the Bermuda Triangle or something <grinning>.
But you really need to check with the cruise company to see how they do business and what their rate structure is for portions or segments of trips, if that is your goal. |
