Are cruises offered from Hawaii to North America at all?

I've been searching and only see cruises to Hawaii. Vacations plans would work better to cruise back from Hawaii not to Hawaii.

The answer to your question is: ABSOLUTELY - and the bonus here is that its on my favorite cruise line - Celebrity!

Celebrity offers one-way Hawaii cruises where you spend 7 days cruising the islands and then 5 days "at-sea" returning to North America - generally, Ensenada, Mexico.

Princess also does one-way cruises, but only to a few islands and only when they "reposition" one of their ships to the South Pacific.

NCL cruises only in/around the islands - doesn't return to N. America.

Finally, the absolute best advice I can give you is not to use a travel website, but to talk to a good travel agent. Tell him/her what your needs are, and that "you are looking for the best deal".

There is no additional cost or hidden fees for their services and you'll have a name and a face to speak to, rather than merely inputting your name, address and credit card into an on-line form and hoping for the best! Personal service is everything.

Remember - planning the trip is a lot of the fun of travel.

Bon voyage

Yes, there are several. Most are one-way trips, and those have to leave from a foreign port. Cabotage laws in the US make it illegal for a foreign-flagged vessel to offer passenger transport between any two US ports unless they visit a distant foreign port. That's why almost all cruises begin and end in the same city.

Look for cruises out of Ensenada or Vancouver.

It is doubtful, it would take along time, there probably are but very hard to find.

Yes there are! Several cruise lines offer cruises from Honolulu to North America. Princess offers ones that arrive in Vancouver and Carnival offers ones that arrive in vancouver and Ensenada (Mexico). Sounds like a great vaction, I hope this is what you were looking for.

Wow - I doubt it - that's a long haul!

i think the whole point of taking a cruise is to go to exotic islands and lands so having a cruise that would take you North America would defeat the purpose.

I am pretty sure there are none probably becuase nobody would want to leave a place like hawaii and probably the movie Poseidon scared some people out of there wits so the cruises went out of business by lack of customers lol (just kidding).

Yes there are many. The majority stop in Mexico or Canada. Check with NCL Cruise Line for Vancouver - Hawaii. Holland America has 2 week round trips San Diego - Hawaii - San Diego.

T
NCL offers the most scheduled intra-island Hawaii and trans-Pacific cruises to Hawaii. Princess, Celebrity, Holland-America also offer cruises to Hawaii.

The trans-Pacific cruises are round-trip and are usually 11-15 days. Sail from the W. Coast, make a few stops in Hawaii and sail back. The brunt of the trip is the trans-Pacific sailing and most assume that because you're going to Hawaii its going to be a smooth sailing with tropical weather - WRONG! The Pacific can be very choppy and it will be windy and cool until you get near Hawaii.

Check with the cruise lines, but I doubt you'll find one that let's you do just the return from Hawaii to N. America. Unless you want to spend a lot of time on board the ship (usually below deck) then you might enjoy a trans-Pacific cruise. I think your best bet would be to just fly both directions and spend the maximum amount of time you can afford aboard the cruise ship visiting the Hawaiian islands.

I'm a travel agent and have done this cruise as part of a seminar. Since we didn't spend a lot of time on deck, it was fine. Its not for everyone. Please consult a travel agent who can best help you with planning a trip such as this.

Bon Voyage!
