I toured the HC room on Royal Caribbean, and was very impressed.

While the ships don't have to comply with the ADA, many of of the cruise lines have figured out that by being accessible they can pull more customers.

Most of the newer ships are accessible. However you may wish to use a specialized cruise agent to assist you, in picking out the right cruise.

The ship is only one thing to consider, ports of call are another!!! Not all ports are fully accessible.

If you need assistance in finding a cruise agent that specializes in accessible cruises, feel free to send me an e-mail. I can put you in touch with one.

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
Yes they do have cabins for people who are handicapped or physically challenged. The last cruise we were just on there were several people who rode around in scooters. I know that whne you pick a cabin you can ask for a handicapped on. On this last cruise there were staff people helping people in wheelchairs and on scooters get to the dinner table, get into show rooms and get off the ship for tours. They will accommodate you as best they can. Now if you absolutely need a bigger bathroom, you may have to get a suite. Some ships now have nice size bathrooms, but you need to ask and specify what you need.

the last cruise i went on was princess cruise lines. i went with my parents and a friend, my mom friend sister and i shared a cabin but my brother and dad had to be relocated to a new cabin because something went wrong well guess what, the only cabin available was a handicapped cabin we were mad because it was just the two of them. it was very spacious and had a fuller shower, tons of space and two closets it was very roomy they accomodate to just about everyone. and im pretty sure they do it on other cruise lines as well

get a suite. the rooms are too small even for "normal" size people.

?
Well i would hope so because handicapped people deserve a nice holiday too. And dont be ashamed of being larger than life because we seem to love life more than most.
