Are there any cruises that drop you off somewhere and then you fly back whenever you want?

i.e. - take a cruise to Hawaii, they drop you off on an island then you go wherever you want and stay there as long as you want, then catch a flight back home instead of cruising back.

Yes, people do it all the time. You simply tell the cruise line of your plans and they beable to help you with you land plans or you would have to make them on your own like flight plans.

Yes they are called repositioning cruises. When a cruise ship is based in Caribbean and is not going to be based in Europe, it sails to Europe and then when everyone gets off in London or Rome, you'd fly back from there.

alaska board in one place, then have to fly home from the ending port.

don't know about Hawaii.

Hana J
you can do it. my grandmas friend came on a cruise to england from australia and is flying back next week some time when she can get a flight. im not sure about hawaii though (: x

Paul in San Diego
You can do that on just about any cruise you book. Just let the cruise line know that you plan on getting off the ship in a certain port. That way they don't freak out and report you missing when you don't show up for the departure from a port of call.

Also, many cruises are one way. For example, most Hawaiian cruises either start in Honolulu, circle the islands, and then end up on the western side of North America (Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Long Beach, or San Diego). Or, you leave from one of those ports, cross over to Hawaii, and then circle the islands for a few days. And, every now and then, you can find a round trip cruise that circles the islands. But, you can still make plans to disembark in Hawaii and fly back at your leisure.
