Are there cruise ships that transport people to Europe from US? |
As a subsittute for flying, can one take a ship to Europe? All I can find are cruises that include stopovers. Are there any ships that just get you there and then later, take you home? |

There are repositioning cruises every spring to Europe from the Caribbean and every fall from Europe to the Caribbean.
The only cruise line I can think of that does a back to back (NY to Southhampton to NY) is Cunard with the Queen Mary 2. Not all her transatlantics are back to back though. There is one leaving NY on 07-oct-07 that turns right around on the 13th and heads back to NY. But if you have the resources, you can sail on her for 6 days from NY to England on 04-sep-07. Stay for 12 days and explore the British Isles, Amsterdam, Paris, etc... Then, again board the QM2 on the 22nd and sail 6 days back to NY.
Please, I beg you, If you do this, I would gladly go along to be your guide. please. :-)

Yes you can cruise to Europe and Back. BUT, what you will have to do is book one cruise eastbound trans-Atlantic to Europe and then book a second cruise west-bound trans-Atlantic back to the US.
The Cunard cruise line does a lot of trans-Atlantic cruises from NY to England. But many other cruise lines also do trans-Atlantic cruises. If you are not savy enough to do your own searching on the internet using the cruise line web sites then perhaps you should contact a travel agent to find what you want. But, if you want you can just go to the cruise line web sites I have listed below and search for 'Trans-Atlantic cruisea'. The web sites will list the cruises, dates and prices.
Some cruise ships go to Europe and then come back as soon as they get there. If you do not want to come back that soon, then consider using two different cruise lines. |

Either...
1. Europe Re-positioning cruises
2. Trans-Atlantic.
It is hard to find one that takes you there and then back 2-3-4 weeks later, but that will help you with your search. Most cruise lines offer these. |
