Are there drug dogs after getting off a cruise?

When you get off a cruise at the end of the vacation are there drug dogs around customs? Not just sniffing the bags, but do they get close to humans too?
Additional Details
I don't think I phrased the questions right... I know there are dogs sniffing the bags, but do they get close to/sniff humans?

Yes they do. You may not see them but that is because most cruise ships take your luggage early in the morning or the night before and put it in the hold. I have also heard that sometimes in a port, before the passengers get back on the ship that they bring the dogs aboard. It probably depends on where the ship is docked.

Best rule is: just say no and don't do it. It is not worth sitting in some foreign prison because you wanted to get a little.

You bet there is and you may not always see them,

Yes, most DEFINITELY.

Yes. And by the way, they can even sniff empty packages and empty pockets and find a "hit" where drugs have been, and you can be arrested for the residue!

Boggy
Didn't see them when we disembarked in Dover, UK, but, our luggage was taken off ship a good couple of hours before we were allowed off. They could have done it then.

Crabby
One way or another they're gonna gitcha, gitcha, gitcha.

They say that dogs smell the luggage, but I've been on 5 cruises and have never seen a law enforcement dog at customs. If I were a pot user, I'd make sure only to get a small amount in port and smoke it before debarkation day.

Lulu
There are drug dogs sometimes getting off the cruise. But the most likely place that you will see them is in the airports. They don't get too close to you unless they smell something.

Put it in the candles Thompson, it's not worth going to war with these insane bastards, just get around them and enjoy the party.
