there are alaskan cruises that you can do...it basically leaves from the seattle area or somewhere on the west coast (like San Francisco if you choose the longer ones) goes up Canada to Alaska and back. I think there are cruises in the New England area that goes up to Canada as well.

You can take a Mississippi River Cruise from St Louis to New Orleans. They have entertainment, cabins to stay in.

You can do an Alaskan cruise. However you will need to check on ports of call as some stop at Canadian ports. Also why cruise the inside passages there are places where you actually travel threw Canadian waters and if you notice a small boat comes along side because to navigate these waters they bring aboard a Canadian Captain. Also you still would need a passport if this is why you were asking.

I recently received a flyer in the mail about a Great Lakes Cruise that looked really wonderful. The website was www.GreatLakesCruising.com - check it out! Personally I love the Great Lakes especially Lake Superior. If you want a cruise that will expose you to lots of natural beauty, this could be the place to look.

Florida - especially Tampa area has a lot of cruises to nowhere leaving out of port - have fun

The Alaska cruise usually includes a stop in Canada. There are New England cruises, and one of them stops short of Canada.

There is something called the Jones act which means all cruise ships with a foreign registry MUST go to a foreign port. I believe all but one cruise company have ships with a foreign registry. That includes Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Holland America, Celebrity, and Cunard. I'm not sure about the one that cruises the Hawaiian Islands. So, the bottom line is yes you do go to a foreign port on all cruises. But you do not have to get off the ship if you wish. The cruises to Alaska go to Canada and the cruises to Hawaii go to Mexico for a few hours. The New England cruises also go to Canada.

You could do an Alaskan cruise or one to the Virgin Islands (I do believe).

If you are concerned about Border Patrol, than most of the above cruises will not work for you. Even on an Alaskan Cruise the ship will enter international waters, probably have at least one Canadian Port and will require re-entry into the US with the appropriate paperwork. I have no idea what your OPT will limit you too. However smaller cruises within the cont. US may be an option for you. Mississippi River is a prime example. The Great Lakes would be a fantastic cruise, but you'll want to check into that one since they could very well hit Canadian ports along the way and I don't know what type of paper requirements will be necessary.

You may want to call one of the cruises you are looking for to determine if your status will be a problem. They'll be about to tell you more specifically.
