It could be that you booked a highly expensive room as in a suite but that is not impossible because some of the rooms can cost that or more! When my boyfriend and I went we booked a balcony room for 7 days and for the both of us including tax and port charges it costed around $2,300. So it is not impossible. I would go through cruisesonly.com they always have great deals and sometimes if you're lucky you can get free upgrades, coupons, etc. Or if you have AAA sometimes they give good discounts. You did not say what cruise line you were going on but I can tell you that Carnival is cheaper than Royal Caribbean... Let me know if you need to know anything else, cruising is what I live for lol.

Not enough information, are any of you over 55? Are any of you in or ex-military? Do you care about the type of cabin you get? You need to give more if you want a good answer... Best thing to do is call a travel agent and let them help you.

It is nearly impossible to average all of the Caribbean Cruises, there are to many and so many different options and variables. you did not say when you want to sail, from where, to where, what type of cabin, and what type of cruise.

Depending on which cruise line and the category cabin you chose, you could spend $4,000 on a 7 day cruise for 3 people.

However, if you are looking for an economical vacation, you can still cruise!

Carnival offers very budget friendly cruises. Select an inside cabin to save $$$'s.

www.carnival.com offers a neat on-line tool for booking that you can review the available cabin types and even specific cabins.

Passenger 1 and 2 pay full price and the 3 guest pays a reduced rate when you stay in the same cabin.

In addition to the fare, you will see port fees and taxes added to the cabin fare.

After you book the cruise, here is a summary of the other items you could spend money on while on a cruise:
To help you budget...here are a few of the "extra costs"-
- Bar drinks - $4-12 each plus 15% gratuity
- Soda - by the can - $1.75 plus 15% gratuity
- Soda fountain card - $38.50 plus 15% gratuity
- Photos - $7.99 to $21.99 (depending on size and style)
- Shore excursions - $50-200 per person per excursion.
- Spa treatments - $50-200 per treatment (but there were many specials on this last trip as many people were skipping the spa...)
- Casino. Use cash in the casino to avoid 3% fee for using card.
- Bingo cards - $5-20...depending on day and games
- Goument coffee - $3.75 and up
- Internet - 75 cents per minute
- Ship to shore phone - $7.99 per minute
- Parking at the port
- Tips for luggage porters - $1 per bag
- Tips on board- $10 per day per guest. Added to your on-board account.

With the exception of tips and parking at the cruise terminal, all of the above is optional. My sister spent less than $400 on our last cruise....
