Best cruise itinerary for teens on a cruise??

which cruise do you think is best for a teen? western eastern or southern? which ports of call would be the most interesting for a teenager? i've also heard carnival is one of the ships most teens have enjoyed. please people comment.

You should be aware that St Martin allows you to drink at 16. So don't be shocked if your teen drinks. Also many cruise lines (not Carnival though) allow you to drink at 18 in international waters.

For a teen--I think western or eastern are both great itineraries. Many islands have fabulous snorkeling and most have something special about their island--Sea Turtle Farm, swimming with the Sting Rays, Pirate's excursions--to explore. Western itinerary have many stops in Mexico near Mayan ruins. I would not allow a teen to do shore excursions without me though--unless the ship is coordinating something. So pick one of the shore excursions specifically for your teen.

Carnival is great. Offers teen nights, movies. And depending on the age of the teen--they can be involved in as much or as little on board with the "teen group" as they wish. The ship has tons they might be interested in on their own.

I'd invest in a soda card for my teen. It will run about $20 but probably save you money in the long run. I've seen 17 year olds picking up girls by purchasing them a soda. If you've already bought the card, each soda won't cost you extra.

I'd avoid NCL b/c that is the worst cruiseline. I'd also avoid Holland simply b/c it caters to an older crowd and there aren't likely to be many teens on board. Carnival and Royal Caribbean both are likely to have a lot of people your teen's age and a lot of activities that they can pick and chose from.

I would definitely do southern or eastern. Price wise they are about the same, but the airfare to San Juan is outrageous, so I would just say go on the Eastern Caribbean, and Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI, was just outstanding, and the sights and snorkeling were amazing. It was magnificent. Also Phillipsburg, St. Maarten, NA, was also a really great place to explore culture. I would definitely recommend Royal Caribbean or Carnival for taking your teen, but they should enjoy it, considering they get to eat all this wonderful food, hang out with people from all over the country, and they get to experience all different sorts of people and cultures.

carnival is more of drunk person ship....its not neccessarily for teens, its drunked ppl....i reccomend celebrity for teens....any place in the caribbean is good for teens, and i think that they will enjoy the port of miami....hope this helps!!!!!!!!! = ]

hmmm I'm not sure what country you're starting this cruise from but yes, Carnival has a younger age group in general so plently of activities for teens, also try Festival or Disney. Why don't you check out www.cruisediva.com. It's a pretty awful looking website but can be quite informative. Have fun!

heyy, im a teen (13) and i've been on two cruises, and my third one is july 20th.

okay:

do not go with carnival - they don't have that great food or services

definitely go with royal caribbean, they have great services for teens - a night club to go and dance in, and a bunch of cool activities.
i'm going on the freedom of the seas boat (royal caribbean) in july, which is an excellent choice for teens.
-- there's a surfing thing
-- teeen night club
-- great islands (western caribbean is awsome)
-- rock climbing wall
-- ice skating rink
-- labadee is royal caribbean's private island. there is giant water trampolines and slides.. it's really cool.

definitely go with royal caribbean
--- and also get a soda card (it's a cheap way to get soda all the time) - you can really save a lot of money with a soda card.

just try to get excited (or get the teen excited) before the cruise - visit websites and learn more about the islands and boat your going to cruise on.

cruise are a great vacation for teens, because you can explore the world and hardly ever have to be with your parents.

hope i helped!
