There is no "best"cruise line, each is best in their market and each has it's own strengths and weaknesses.

1. Seaborn - Strengths: Nice staterooms, excellently appointed ships, fewer passengers, smaller ships can get into ports the larger ships can't. Weakness: less entertainment opportunities, less dining options, very expensive.

2. Reagent Seven Seas - Strengths Nice staterooms, excellently appointed ships, fewer passengers. Weakness: less entertainment opportunities, very expensive.

3. Celebrity Strengths: Good crews, staterooms small but nicely appointed, older more sedate clientelle. Weakness: Older more sedate clientelle, fewer cruise options.

4. Holland America More expensive than others but stands up to others in Large ship class

5. Royal Caribbean - Everything is OK

6. Norweigan Cruise Lines - Strengths Freestyle cruising
Weakness lots of passengers

7. Carnival - Strengths, Largest cabins in large ship class, multiple cruise options around the world, lots of entertainment, great childrens program, inexpensive prices. Weakness: Youngest crowd, heavier alcohol consumption, more children, appointments less expensive (note has lots of dining options and good food)

If I was young and single I would probably consider Princess Cruises. Young with family definitely Carnival, Older with family, RCCL or NCL maybe Holland America, Older with no children Seaborn or Reagent.

I have two young teens and my wife and I find we can usually get 2 cabins on Carnival if we book at the right time for the same price as putting 4 people in one cabin on Holland America. Have sailed on 7 cruise lines and my wife and kids prefer Carnival, I preferred NCL but probably only because of the itenerary (which is no longer available).

royal carribean bills themselves as "active lifestyle"cruising
holland america-pleasant, nice staff on board, tends to be a more reserved type of vacation
princess-for a more wide variety of people, many activities, entertainment, good food.
and then there are the luxury cruise lines-more expense, more formal, (if that is your style)

Well I have been on over 30 cruises in my lifetime...I'll go through every cruise line that I have been on, and explain it to you:

Carnival is more of a party ship...there is a lot more drinking, and believe it or not, people overboard...i personally don't think that it is one of the best cruise lines because there is way too much partying...Here are some links to help you:

http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/crui...

http://www.carnival.com/

Now I have been on Royal Carribean, and I think that this cruiseline is awesome...there are many activites onboard, such as ice skating, rock walls, amazing shows, great kids/ teen programs, exctiting games, great port of call, and great rates...I have been on over 15 rccl cruises, and this cruise line is my favorite:

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/home.do;js...

Celebrity Cruises are my second favorite cruise line...it is exactly like rccl except they dont have the ice skating and rock walls...the shows are fantastic...the food incredible, the activites for kids of all ages, adults also...the pools and pool side games are amazing...it is a little bit cheaper than rccl, but has similar itineraries, just from some different ports:

Now Disney cruises are also great, the only downside is that it is very expensive...there are so many different varieties of cruises such as a land and sea, 3 and 4 night cruises, 7 night carribean, and several mexican riviera cruises..the activites onbaord are endless...jump in the pool, catch a game in the oceanears lab, play bingo, watch the fantastic night shows, eat and endledd amount of food...and especially travel the several different places around the world, including Disney's prviate island, castaway cay:

I hope that I helped you, and if you have any further questions, feel free to send me a message = ]

Personally I like Royal Caribbean. It's classier and has fewer rowdy drunks than Carnival, but the prices are the same or cheaper. Plenty to do on board. Great value for the money.

I enjoy any ship with a 4.5 or greater star rating. The most important thing to me is the itinerary followed by the service on the ship. I've found that most cruise veterans are not line loyal. They each have their own priorities.

i started cruising with royal caribbean and i love them.

So i would rank them 1 in my opinion.

I did cruise on carinval the third year, but i didnt like it that much. Its like going from prime rib to ground beef.

But again that is just my opinion.

i personally like RC for the class, activities, wide range of people and the fact that theirs alittle of everything for everybody.

I loved Royal Carribean.

It depends on what you want out of your cruise holiday. Have a look on www.onevacationclub.com and decided for yourself.

It depends on what you are looking for. You need to look at the various lines and see what they have to offer compared to what you are looking for. If you want luxury then R. C or Holland America. If you what parties then Carnival. It just depends on what you are looking for.

Yes definitely depends on what your looking for. I love Holland America. We sailed Royal Caribbean and we liked it too but spent the week comparing it to Holland America. RC Freedom ship was so crowded we could hardly get into the shows or the other functions around the ship but it was a very full ship and the peak of summer. We are sailing NCL / pearl in a couple of months and that will also be a new adventure. If money is no object then Crystal I hear is top notch!
