To get the best deal book months in advance. Many people have already booked for 2010. Cruises near the beginning and end of the season are cheaper. Cruises in the summer are more expensive. Go with a major travel agency and you may get special incentives. Mine was able to get a free cabin upgrade and $50 onboard credit. As a single traveler you will pay at least 150% of the normal rate. For higher priced rooms it will be 200%.

Find a Travel agent you can Communicate with, one that will work for you. This is the only way they make money now and it doesn't cost you anything extra. We have always gotten better deals then vacations to go prices. They get the heads up on the good deals and they will set up the whole thing for you. Like room placement, meal request, bed request. They will also make sure you have the proper info and will fill out the paperwork for you. They are right try and find someone to take with you. It helps to have someone with you to share the experience and you really don't have to hang out the whole time together we have gone with groups of 11 and we all go our separate ways and meet for dinner and sometimes lunch. You have made a great choice to go tho you will have the best time.

Your best deal is to find someone to cruise with. A friend, a sister or cousin. Cabins are priced per person but based on double occupancy. If you want to cruise solo, you will be charged a "single supplement" up to 100% of your ticket price. The cruise lines no longer match you up with a stranger to cruise with. Too many problems in the past.
Given that, cruising is one of the best choices for solo travelers. There are so many activities. I would also recommend you choose traditional dining. They will seat you at a table of other singles and you can share excursion experiences and conversation without feeling like everyone else is in a couple.
I always start my research at vacationstogo.com. I get an idea of where and when I'd like to cruise and then I can take that information to a brick and mortar travel agent or go to another site like cruisecompare.com and get agents to bid their best price. Tell them you want all taxes and port charges included in their bids so you are comparing apples to apples. I also recommend at 7 day cruise. The shorter ones get a little too party atmosphere for me. Choose a cruise that goes to the ports you'd like to visit and only on a ship with a 4 star rating or better. Best of luck finding a cruise. Warning: you will probably get as addicted as I am.

You have to sorth through the deals...their are sooo many with the economy being bad and all. I use priceline they seem to give the best deals. You can check ouy info and deals here
