Booking a cruise...help!!!? |
I'm thinking about booking a cruise with a couple of my girlfriends next summer. When it says $800 for an Interior room, does it mean for each person, or just the room? Because about 6 of us would go so does that mean it would cost $4,800 or just $2,400? Also, how old do you have to be to stay in a room by yourself without an adult?
Lastly, whats your favorite cruiseline? Something fun yet affordable!! |

All cruise ship cabins are sold based on double occupancy; that means at least two persons per cabin. BUT, if you have 3 or 4 people who will share that cabin, those persons rate for the cruise is about 50% of that for the first two. If there are six of you then you could go 4 in one cabin and two in another to make it slightly cheaper for all (averaging the total cost among you all). Or you could do 3 in one and 3 in the other to give yourself a little more room.
All cruise lines require that at least one person in each cabin be age 21 or older (on Carnival that requirement is age 25). However, if there are six of you traveling together you can have just one person over age 21 (or 25) be the supervisor of the group and you could be in adjoining cabins or ones across the hall in close proximity.
In addition, if you are all under 21 then each of you would need a notarized letter from your parents stating that you have permission to go on the cruise with (whomever is the adult).
You must be age 21 or older to stay in a room by yourself and if you wanted to do that the cruise line would charge you a single supplement which would essentially be a double fare. Remember I said all cabins are sold based on two people. So if you are trying to save money that's not a good idea.
My favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean because it hs great ships that have the most things to do on board. They cater to families and have a a great private island at Labadee, Haite. The budget cruise line that most young people and first time cruisers go on is Carnival. |

you have to have someone in your cabin that is 21 years old (carnival it is 25).
the cruise lines book the cabins "double occupancy" that means you pay per person and have to have at least one other person there with you.
3rd and 4th persons in the staterooms are a bit cheaper than the first two.
i would try carnival cruise lines, royal carribean, princess.
but i would get the help of a travel agent who specializes in cruises.

best wishes for a good summer trip.

you won't be able to put 6 people in one stateroom, but you can get 2 connecting rooms which will leave you much more room...the $800 is per person for the 1st 2 and then the rate goes down for additional people in the room...the age depends on the cruiseline but usually its over 21 atleast......ive been on both Carnival and RCL and both are great, although i usually have more fun on carnival and thier rates are less than RCL...have fun whatever you choose.....you might want to call the cruiseline direct to get exact answers |
