Buying alcohol on cruises?

In the past I always bought several bottles on every cruise I went on, but with the new/old carry on rules for liquids, I haven't bothered. The baggage people in TSA and at the airlines have broken things in my checked luggage I thought we almost unbreakable. Any suggestions besides shipping it to myself or drinking it before I fly.
Additional Details
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. It seems that people are reading bought as brought and are thinking I am trying to sneak alcohol on the ship. I am trying to bring it back from the islands and not have it break in my checked baggage on the way home.

The problem with "missing" liquor in checked luggage and with broken bottles is why I no longer purchase alcohol to bring back with me from any trip. I'm even a bit leery about perfumes, although since they are smaller and generally in really tough bottles in tight cardboard boxes they are a lot less likely to break. (They're less likely to be "missing" after a flight, too.) The only way I know of to get bottles of alcohol home safely after a cruise is not to fly.

Not really, except you would fill the alcohol into plastic bottles and then put them in your luggage. But of course, if you want to bring someone that nice french cognac and have it in an old sprite bottle - that would not be too great either.

This works for me all the time and I cruise 2 or 3 times a year. I use a couple flasks that are about the size of a pint liquor bottle and I pack them with my toiletries. That so that if they do x-ray the bottles look like any other. I put each flask in a zip-lock bag to help guard against spillage. Then instead of buying a fifth, buy a few pint bottles of whatever you drink and pack them in your leather shoes wrapped in a zip lock bag to guard against spillage. Another thing you can do is buy some mini's like the ones they sell on the airlines and pack them all over your luggage, but for sure in your shoes; whatever shoes you take for the formal night.

Well first of all...all cruise lines are cracking down on people bringing there own alcohol on the cruise ships. (they want you to buy drinks on the boat). All luggage also goes through detectors and searches before arriving at your stateroom, they have released statements that now they have the right to search and OPEN all water bottles, pop bottles, glass bottles, mouthwash bottles that are in luggage to see if they are alcohol. They have the right to now keep you from boarding the ship and kicking you off. I would be very careful....they are cracking down alot.
