Can I book a cruise a month before?

I have my eyes set on a September 22nd cruise. Me and my travel companions have both already took time off work and we dont need to book airline tickets ( i live in florida.) We dont care what room we have (well take an interior) but we do have a specific cruise we want to be on.

I am waiting to a check that should be coming in about a month..so i am looking to book only a month before the cruise.

Do they often fill up? Its just a carnival cruise so its not like its a nice fancy ship. Do the prices generally go up or down as the cruise gets nearer?

Thanks!

I would book now to insure you get a spot on the cruise. Tickets usually go down just before the sail date simply to fill the ship up, however you risk them being sold out. One thing you can do is book now and the closer to the sail date inquire about upgrading your cabin. Its usually cheaper to upgrade just before the sail date as they want to fill the rooms.

Have fun!!

You just have to be a little flexible. If you have your heart set on a particular ship or a particular line or a particular itenerary - book it way in advance.

If, on the other hand, you just want to "cruise somewhere", I can always find you a great deal 30 days out.

Prices start low, and go up if they are selling ahead of pace, and may drop drastically between 60 and 30 days before sailing.

The ships NEVER leave the dock unfilled.

theres only one way to find out....! go ahead and book, usually u can get a deal last minute because their trying to get rid of rooms... unless its booked then your out of luck sorry

you can book your cruise anytime of the year, and it is a good idea to book now so you and your friends will be sure to get a cabin. It is always good to book in advance.

Yes you can book w cruise up to like two weeks prior to the sailing date. It would be best to book your cruise in advance to be certain you get your room of choice and dinner time and stuff, but the prices usually drop for last minute bookings !

Time travler
Sure you could. I would check the web site "vacations to go" and click on there 90 day ticker. That will list all the cruises that have cabins left that are leaving within 90 days. Of course that number changes daily because of cancellations. Fact is, sometimes these last minute deals are some of the best prices around. Our next cruise to Hawaii was booked through vacations to go, so I trust them completely.

The price of the cruise will be at its highest just before it departs when you want to go. The question of whether you will be able to book depends entirely on whether the cruise is sold out now or by then. You can usually book a cruise up to about a week or so before the sail date if cabins are available. The cruise lines no longer do the last minute, day or two, before the cruise bookings because of changes in procedures related to 9/11 and security matters. They want to have time to check out passengers and they must submit manifests to Customs and Immigration officials 60 minutes or more before they sail.
