There are several factors involved with any cruise.
Destination
Weather
I have been on over 20 cruises & LOVED each one. Now people look for different things on a cruise. Some care more about the ship, ports of call or destination.
I myself am a people person. Where else can you go and meet & talk to people of all ages & walks of life ? Face it if you are in your twenties are you going to sit & talk with someone who is in there forties ?
A cruise is a great escape where you pack twice once to go & once to leave. They provide you with a room(your choice), food, Entertainment, activities, each morning a different ports of call, plus so much more. All you have to do is relax & enjoy. It is your choice if you sit by the pool or get off the ship, get all dressed up to eat or go in jeans.
Now not everyone may care for this for whatever reason but, that is why there are so many different places to go & see.
For me as long as I can walk I am going.
ENJOY.

It's really excellent...lots of activities, excellent food, good shopping. The land excursions are really fun and there are lots to choose from. There are good sources of entertainment, and most of the time, you don't even realize you're on a ship. Just one point of advice: Try not to schedule during hurricane season. If you must, bring Dramamine!

If it matters, I've been on one cruise and I'm 20 years old.

I've been on two, and it's what you make of it. It's like a floating all inclusive resort that drops you off in different places to see what they're like. Most of the ports have good shopping, restaurants and bars. All of them have excursions you can buy on the ship to go snorkling or diving or take city tours.
You'll meet people from all over the place, have lots of options for entertainment, and get lots of sun and fun.
One of the things we did my second time around was to rent a jeep and check out the local area, instead of booking activities. It costs the same, and a good guidebook can give you really good ideas, if you want to go off the beaten path.
If you travel a LOT, especially independently (not on tours) you won't hate it but won't love it. And if you have traveled a lot but haven't been to the islands you'll probably like it. If you haven't traveled a lot, it's a really fun trip. There are many deals out there so you can get a cruise with flights for a really good price around now.
Either way, you get away! Have fun!

My recommendation is Carnival Cruise Line.
I've been on 4 and all 4 got better and better and better. Lol.
You forget you're on a boat at times, that's how much fun you're having.
On the Carnival cruise, the services are great also.

Good luck

I have had both pleasant and really good experiences. The best was when I met my girlfriend. It was a Royal Caribbean cruise and I had gone from Florida to the Caribbeans.
It was just perfect. We did loads of romantic stuff, shopped, ate plenty of good food. Amazing trip that one!

I have been on a cruise twice - both were week long cruises. My first one was with Carnival and that was very family oriented. The second was with Celebrity which was more elegant. If you're the kind of person who likes to stay at one place for a long period of time, I really don't recommend going on a cruise. You get a limited time at each place (on paper, it seems like a lifetime but in reality, time passes by very quickly) and you don't really get to have a deep experience. On the other hand, if you're looking for a pampering vacation where your scenery changes every second, I highly recommend cruising. You are relaxed every minute of every day because pretty much everything has been planned out for you.

Every year I go on a cruise ship three times. The feel to board such an amazing ship is just awesome! Whats best, (depending on the ship) you can walk on the massive out deck and just relax and adore nature and the beautiful ocean. Once inside the cruise ship, it feels very nice and comfy and safe. I love exploring the decks and everywhere and love the video game arcades.

I have been on 9 cruises and number 10 will happen this summer, all with Princess cruises. I do about 1 a year now. YOur expectations leading up to the cruise alone is exciting. When you first board the ship, you are in awe of the ships beauty. The cabins are smaller then an average hotel room, but that's fine as you don't spend much time in the cabin. Each day you get a newspaper that tells you what is going on that day on the ship. You can do arts and crafts, listen to a lecture, Gamble(if your over 21), watch a movie, exercise, watch a demonstration like ice carving or martini making(free drinks if your lucky), go to an art auction, and of course swim and eat. When you arrive at a port, then you can do a shore excursion, or just walk around. Some people don't even get off the ship(usually the older crowd). I find the whole cruise experience, lots of fun, plenty to do, and very relaxing all at the same time. I LOVE cruising.

It was a lot of fun, and I learned some stuff too:

i have gone on 2 cruises but both were not my idea. personally i give them
a thumbs down. if your young you may like the you may be able to drink and party. but when it comes down to it no matter how big the ship is it is kind of like
being in a floating shopping mall with bars and a pool. it becomes an carpeted
prison. just my opinion lots of people love them
