Probably won't happen. You have to be 21 unless you are married before you leave. |

You may have difficulty buying a cruise at all- the last agent we talked to said you had to be 21 (or have a 21 yr old going with you) to buy the tickets. |

You must be 21 years old to book a cruise.
Carnival Cruise Lines will have a lot younger crowd in their 20s than will Princess. Carnival does have a formal night for dinner and other nights are business atire, if you don't feel like getting all dressed up for dinner, than you can always hit one of the buffets instead at your own pleasure.
You must be 21 years old to drink on a cruise ship, but you may drink in port if the drinking age is under 21.
You must be 18 years old to go in the casino (The casino is only open when the ship is at sea in international waters, never in port)
I highly recommend the 3-5 day cruises carnival offers to Baja MExico, they are a lot of fun and extremely affordable, just remember that the cruise fair only includes your room, food and port fees. All beverages except water, tea, coffee and juice are additional. Also there is an additional charge of $10.00 per day per person for gratuities. All shore excursions are in addition to the cruise fair.
Also, one other quick note, since you and your girlfriend will have to wait until you are 21, don't forget that starting next January 2008 you must have a passport for all cruise travel despite whether you are flying out of the country or not!!
Have fun and spend this time doing all the research you can to find you and your girlfriend the best cruise you can at the price you can afford for when you both turn 21!! |

Not True! Princess allows both people sharing a cabin to be over 18. Also even though it is not their policy--NCL does if you are accompanied by people. SO if your parents have a room, the 2 of you could share a room at 20 (my cousin and i were both 20 and no one said a word).
However Princess cruises are expensive and I dont know that you could afford one. They are not near as cheap as Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Plus Princess is a good deal fancier.
Most cruiselines (though not Carnival) respect that if you are in international waters you can drink at the international limit of 18. Certain islands have much lower drinking ages like St Martins is 16. So when you are at those islands you can drink.
The hard part isn't the drinking but the cabins. Princess is the only one that allows both people sharing a cabin to be 18+. Consider waiting a few months until one of you turns 21--then taking it. |

Okay, I used to work on cruise ships. A nice Bahamian cruise is Nassau and maybe a private island, owned by individual cruise lines. It also depends on what you want to do on your vacation.
If you go on a Carib cruise- Jamaica, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Key West, Belize....you won't be able to buy hard liquor on board, but if you go onto the islands, you can drink yourself stupid- either way, remember that you still have to be resposnsible for yourself. The ship waits for NOONE!!! It WILL sail without you if are late when it's time to set sail and you're laying drunk in some strange bar.
Cruise lines, Royal Caribbean, I worked on those ships. Also Carnival, cheaper cruises, but you get what you pay for. And Celebrity is nice too, similar to RCCL.
Good luck with your choice. |

All of the cruise lines except Carnival require that the person booking the cruise be at least 21 years of age and that at least one person over 21 is in eaach cabin. On Carnival the minimum age to book is age 25. So unless you have a parent or older person going with you, you cannot even book a cruise cabin. So you need to wait until you are 21.
Then book your cruise on Princess or on Norwegian Cruise line. Norwegian has the Freestyle cruising where you don't ave to dress up for dinner. Princess also has a dining option were you don't have to specify a dinner time and you can just go casually dressed to the open buffet for dinner (and all meals) each day. All cruise lines do enforce the minimum drinking age of 21. |

You take a cruise to find a girl. If you already have a GF, why to take her to the middle of the ocean in a tiny boat with a thousand others ?
Find some other romantic spot where you can be alone. |
