Royal Caribbean's Empress of the Seas has several 3-night sailings from San Juan to St Kitts and St. Maarten in the winter. If one of the sailings fits your schedule, it would be a great way to experience cruising without the additional cost of traveling to mainland departure port.

Unless you plan on chartering a boat for a "cruise" to the Virgin Islands, there really aren't any cruise ships that have 3-night itineraries to either the USVIs or BVIs-- even departing from Florida.

Several cruise lines have 4 and 5-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale and Miami, but the ships mostly head to Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

Cruising on a large ship will be a lot of fun and something different -- give it a try.

Enjoy,

We went on a cruise to Cozumel the Grand Caymans and Costa Maya and it was beautiful, my favorite part was snorkeling. I can't wait to do it again!

I've been on Disney, Royal Caribbean & Carnival cruise lines.

Whatever you pick, dont pick carnival! It is filled with drunk party going weirdos who are extremely obnoxious. The service sucks, as well as the food! You get what you pay for! You pay a little, you get a little.

Next- Disney. The best cruise line! They will jump through hoops to meet your satisfaction! Dont let it be deceiving, being the fact that it is disney, but it has just as much for little kids, to teens, to adults! You must choose disney! They have an incredible private island consisting of 3 beaches, family beach, teen beach & adult beach. You MUST go to the adult beach! It's the exact same to hawaii's beaches! Trust me! Absolutely stunning! They also have a few restaurants just for adults, & a pool just for adults, as well as bars, clubs ect.

Royal Caribbean. -
I was very pleased with it, although many things did not equal to the Disney Cruise Line. The food was great, but not as good as Disney's. Also, the clubs in my opinion werent very welcoming. Also, their private island that they take you to [on any 3 day, they take you to their island as well] , doesnt compare to Disney's!!! It is horrible! It is in Haiti & its just very discusting. The water is filled with seaweed, and the sand is rough. This was my opinion along with everyone else who has gone on RC. So if a nice vactation means beach to you, then dont choose Royal Caribbean.

-----------------------

If you want:

great food, great service, fun = Disney.

good food, bad beach fun = Royal Caribbean

horrible food, no beach & no fun = Carnival.
[haha]

there you go! i hope you make the best decision & have a blast. I promise there is nothing in the world funner than going on a disney cruise!

good luck hope it helped! :]

The Virgin Islands are very nice, but you already live in the Carribean, so why go there. If I were you I'd look for a trip to Cancun or a similar Mexican point.

The object of a cruise is more about the cruise itself than where you are going. The food is wonderful, the entertainment is great too. You can hang in the disco, or one of the many music bars. Their is food always available. They have broadway type shows. The ship I was on (The Carnival Legend) even had a talent show, that I had a chance to perform in. Even got a tape of my performance (John Lennon's Imagine) to take home with me.

There are art auctions, a spa, comedians, magicians, and gambling. It's the best vacation I ever had!!!
