Drug dogs always sniff the suitcases on the way back. When you get off the ship all the suitcases are placed in a big open area and the drug dogs walk it.

It is probably much easier to get drugs on the ship than off. But then like the others said, ships are mostly non-smoking environments so where do you smoke it?

Ships have cameras everywhere. If you are flying, I definitely wouldn't be dumb enough to bring it from your house to the airport.

So yes it is probably easy and possible to bring it on the cruise but it is also easy and probable to get caught. You do NOT want to play around with customs and if you forget you have it in your bag, and take it into another country, they are just as picky.

Remember marijuana is a plant. All plants, fruits and vegetables are banned from being brought across borders. They look for these things.

I would say if you are determined that you can't go the duration of the cruise without smoking pot, your best bet is to get off the ship, go purchase and smoke it in the country you bought it. Then you only have to avoid local police (and US citizenship will get you nowhere) which is the same as you have to here. You don't want to risk homeland security and customs agents and every time you get back on a ship, they have customs agents that can smell you.

Though IMHO, the consequences of ending up in a Jamaican jail, not being allowed back on board, or being held in the brig on ship until you get arrested at port are just too harsh to risk it. There is an entire tv show series about being locked up abroad.

Not likely.. you cabin steward would smell it and report it.

Besides, they can go through your bags. (and do).

Read the fine print.. they can put you off at the next port for this.. and they do. At your expense.

better if you just leave that stuff at home this time cuz your just going to lose more money and maybe time if you get caught.

I think that it is not worth the risk. You could probably smuggle it on board but where would you smoke it? The decks are patrolled and there a lots of hidden cameras. You could get arrested in a foreign country, kicked off of the ship and have to make your way home at your own expense, and generally be truly ******.

Only if your want to find out what the brig looks like on a cruise ship.

Two fellows on the Carnival Ecstasy tried it and were promptly picked up by security and sequestered until the end of the cruise.

Galveston PD and customs met the ship and these two fellows got to be the first ones off of the ship.

There are alot of people on the ship and they will not hesitate to report the smell of weed. Don't try smoking or buying while in country...the local police are glad to give you a tour of the local cross bar motel...
