Can you book one person and on another day book another person in the same room on a carnival cruise?

NO< all cruise cabins are sold double occupancy so you have to book two people on the first day. Now if you book two people and then want to change or add a person you can do that.

JoLynn11
yes you can call carnival or whoever you made your travel plans to and add a person. if your travel agent gives you a hard time call carnival directly. we have done this before.

my4sonsnme
yes, you can as long as it is 1st and 2nd passengers. Sometimes the cruise is full, and they can't add a 3rd (and many rooms are only for 2).....

Zef H
Yes you can. You would originally book the cabin for one. This one person would be charged a single supplement. The single supplement runs from 110% to 200%. That means that when only one person books, that person pays more than the per person rate. I'll give some examples below. At any rate, later you add the second person. The new rate would be computed, and you would owe the difference.

Here are a couple of examples. Say the price is $1000 per person and $200 of that are port fees. In addition there is a $5 per day fuel supplement and the cruise is one week long.

Example one - single supplement is 150%. So the first person pays $1435 as follows:

Per person rate = $1000
Supplement 50% of $800 (a single person does not have to pay for two port fees) = $400
Fuel supplement = $35

Now the second person is added. Total cost is $2070. $1000 each times two plus $5 each per day for the fuel supplement. $1435 has already been paid, so now an additional $635 is due.

Second example - single supplement is 200%. The first person pays $1835 as follows:

Per person rate = $1000
100% single supplement (again, a single person does not have to pay two port fees) = $800
Fuel supplement of $5 per day = $35

Now you add the second person. For two the cost is the same $2070. So in this case the additional cost would be $235.

I doubt it, but cruise lines are out to satisfy the guest completely. You can go to carnival.com, click on contact us. There, you'll find email addresses and telephone numbers. Someone will be more than happy to answer all your questions.

PJ
Sure. The way it works is you initially book as a single and they charge you a "single supplement" that basically makes the price the same as having two people.

Then, when you're ready, you add the other person.

You might want to contact Carnival to book directly. I've found their Personal Vacation Planners pretty flexible about this sort of thing.
