Can you book your cruise excursions on a separate website?

We are going on a cruise in August. I want to book the cruise on vacationstogo.com but maybe book all my excursions on carnival.com. Is this possible?

Yes, you should book your excursions on carnival.com.

You will need your booking number and as I recall, you have to complete you FunPass before you can book your excursions on-line.

I highly recommend booking your excursions before boarding because some tours have limited availability.

Don't get sticker shock...some of the excursions, especially those with the dolphins are pricey.

Yes, Carnival will allow this if you are booked on a Carnival cruise. However, you can google tours for the port stops, and find excursion operators that way. I have seen some that are cheaper this way. We always just get them when we get off of the ship. There are plenty of people at the port just waiting for you. Once in Cozumel we did this, and buy the time we picked our tour guide, we got our tour for less than half of the cruise price, and forty dollars less than the first driver we saw. You can get a long way by haggling with some people. Some won't budge at all.

Depending on your comfort level and experience, you can do excursions on your own in many ports of call. [NOT Jamaica!] If you do your research ahead of time, you can save a lot of money and have a much better experience this way.

The risk is having a problem getting back to the ship and being left behind. That's not a problem with a ship excursion.

For an idea of which ports are good for going it on your own and which are not [and which vendors are reliable and which aren't!] check out CruiseCritic.com, "Boards", "Ports of Call". You'll get all the advice you need right there!

your cruise agent will discuss this with you, but you have other options besides booking with the cruise line- in this case Carnival. there is a company called shoretrips.com that I have used MANY times, as well as you can just get off the ship and there are a TON of people waiting to get your business, you will save a BUNDLE by doing it this way-especially on city tours... The more exotic ones I would book through the cruise line.... Good LUCK

Yes, absolutely, go on their website and book directly with them, also you can find sites on the internet that give opinions about the various excursions...some are not worthwhile, some are great. However, after this cruise you might want to change to another cruiseline. I went on a Carnival Cruise and they gave me a room that stunk of fecis, l complained and believe me they are awful to deal with, l got really ill and they refused to refund me anything, and gave me a small plate of fruit as if that was such a wonderful gesture to erase the disgusting conditions of their cabins and the terrible customer service l recieved.
