YES !
Today cruise lines suggest that you dress up for dinner.
As for the other meals as long as there are no holes or anything hanging out it will be fine. There are many places where jeans or shorts are the norm. It is like going to any local restaurant you will see people is all attire. If your ship has a buffet you will see this true & also around pool areas they may have a snack bar setup or pizza.
Enjoy.

For lunch you can go to the buffet or one of the other restaurants on board. I don't think the buffet has a dress code, but the Lido restaurants, which are opened nightly except on the last evening of the cruise, have a casual dress code. You can go anywhere for lunch. The dining room is only open for dinner.

Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code
Ladies:
- casual dresses
- casual skirts
- casual pants
- casual blouses
- summer dresses
- capri pants
- dress shorts
- jeans (no cut-offs)
Not permitted in the dining room on casual night for ladies and gentlemen:
- gym shorts
- basketball shorts
- beach flip-flops
- bathing suit attire
- cut-off jeans
NO sleeveless shirts for men only.

Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code
Ladies:
- cocktail dresses
- pantsuits
- elegant skirts
- elegant blouses
Evening gowns are fine too!
NOT permitted in the dining room on elegant night for ladies and gentlemen:
- shorts
- tshirts
- beach flip-flops
- bathing suit attire
- jeans
- cut-off jeans
- sportswear
- baseball hats
NO sleeveless shirts for men only.

I hope you have a lot of fun =D

During the day;.. shorts/bermudas/ capris

Evenings ... Sundress or Capris.

You'd be wise to leave the denim and jeans at home. It's HOT and humid in the caribbean this time of year. Too hot for jeans.

Some cruiselines don't allow jeans in the dining room (dinnertime).

either one would probably be ok for lunch, but i'm guessing not for dinner. Many restaurants wont allow shorts or jeans after 6 or so and you might have to dress up a bit for dinner too (again, depending on which restaurant, but I read that in the main dining room, its code is formal...)

It's easy, The buffet and the dinning room are not the swimming pool.
I've seen ladies come to dinner looking as if they should be walking the streets late at night, Everyone stared, and a few people laughed out loud, the ladies only did it once.
If you want to be at a fashion show don't go on a cruise. If you want to be comfortable cruising is for you.
Cruising is suppose to be relaxing, If you want to dress to the extreme you will be out of place.

Sure.
Lunch/breakfast, where whatever you want. I wore skinny jeans and short shorts to meals.

On dinner, only in the dining room, (where what you want to the buffet) The rule is:
No short shorts, flip flops, hats, tank tops/spaghetti strap shirts.

Formal night:
No jeans, and same rules that apply to the other days.
