Carnival Cruise?

I am thinking of taking my daughter (20) on a Carnival Cruise. I am interested in knowing if anyone has taken one to Cozimel, Mexico from Mobile Alabama. How did you like it? What did you think about the boat (Holiday)?

I loved my cruises to Cozumel. However, I would probably not go on the Holiday. It is one of Carnival's oldest ships. It does not have all of the ammenities built in. They were added later. If you want, I would consider going to New Orleans and going on the Fantasy, or Tampa and the Inspiration. They are both Fantasy class ships. The Inspiration just came out of drydock and has been totally refitted. I went on it last year, and seeing what they did, I am looking forward to sailing on it again.

I have been on 7 cruises and will be on the Holiday out of Mobile in 4 days from now. Cozumel is a pretty cool place. Alot of water sports / beaches and a fair amount of stuff to do for people who aren't into water sports. The Holidy is the oldest, smallest ship which means that it will look it's age a bit and not have the bells and whistles of some of the newer ships. Now, having said that, if you are a first time cruiser, it still will seem eye popping to you. The food , service etc should be about the same on the Holiday as it is on the newer ships. I have been on the biggest carnival ships as well as the older, smaller ones and have just a good a time on eithor.

I haven't gone... but I wouldn't go on the Holiday either. It is thee OLDEST AND smallest in the Carnival fleet, and will be leaving soon, along with the only other left in its class, the Celebration. The Holiday started service in 1985, making it 23 years old. That, for a cruise ship, is quite old. In 2003, the ship was dry docked because its condition had been in decline. There, it had necessary renovations. In 2005, it housed victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Anyways, I'd go for something out of Florida or maybe New Orleans. I just wouldn't go on such an old ship.
