Carnival Cruise, Help Please!?

Okay, so me and four other friends (that would make five of us, for the mathematically impaired) were trying to make plans for a cruise on Carnival cruise lines. However, we don't really want to get seperate rooms, we were going to get a suite. Does anyone know how big the suites are, what the options are on them, ect? Also, I went to Carnival's website, and they say the suite is like $1,849.00. Does that mean the price per person or just the price for the suite? Help!

I've booked a category 11 and 12 on carnival I would suggest the 12 its 330 sq feet instead of 220 with the 11 and it's on the Upper deck which is louder but worth it, the walk in closet and jacuzzi tub is not really in my liking but the bigger balcony is, it's 70 sq feet instead of 30 square feet. If you give me the dates I can check for you but I think it would be per person, I've been on the Imagination and Fascination if you have any questions. If you don't care which suite try to book a guarantee which means you'll either get 11 or 12 for sometimes less $$.

It is (unfortunately) per person.
Seriously...I REALLY suggest not getting a suite. You rarely spend time in your room except for when you go to sleep (which I doubt you'll be doing much of it as there are five of you.) It really isn't worth it and yes, it is overpriced.

I suggest splitting it 2 to a room and 3 to a room.

just get two shared-regular cabin rooms cabin. that will give you 5-6 beds maybe 8 for the roll in beds. trust me u dont spend much time in your room not worth the cost

The price probably does mean per person for the suite. I've been on several Carnival cruises and have loved them all! Once we were able to get a balcony and it was totally worth the money. The rooms would be pretty cramped for 5 people but unless you're part of a couple, that probably won't be a problem --except that there is usually only one electrical outlet and that could be a big problem for getting ready for dinners! Have a wonderful time!!!!

The prices shown are based on per person, double occupancy. If you got a $2000 suite by yourself, it would actually be closer to $4000. Conversely, if you have more than 2 people in a stateroom or suite, the price would be the $4000 ($2000 each for the first two people), plus somewhat less (like around $1000) each for additional people. You might want to contact Carnival directly to find out exactly how much it would cost you with various accommodation configurations.

BTW - on Carnival, the best suites on the ship are category 11, on the back corners of the ship (about decks 4 through 8 - and 8 can be noisy, because it's right below the Lido deck). These are 330 square foot suites, like the other category 11 suites. But, unlike the ones on the sides of the ship, these are triangular and have a separate bedroom. They also have about a 220 square foot wrap-around balcony that gives you about a 270-degree panoramic view. Plus, the ship itself blocks out the wind. If you were going 20 knots into a 15 knot head-wind, you would be subjected to a 35-knot gale if your balcony is on the side of the ship. But, it's perfectly calm on the back of the ship.

The 3rd, 4th and 5th passenger will not pay the same rate.
Some suites cannot accommodate 5 adults.

Good luck!

The prices on the website and their brochures - are always a "per person" price. There's usually a discounted price for the 3rd and 4th guests sharing a stateroom - not sure how they'd do it for the 5th. Most suites are larger with a king size bed and a sofa with a fold out bed. Might be cramped with 5. Another option to consider would be to request to adjoining rooms - which somne of the Carnival ships now have. Would give you more room and even with the smaller rooms - could be comfortable with 2-3 per room. Call 1-800-CARNIVAL and they will help you with answers, options, etc.

I have been on many cruises. DO NOT WAISTE YOUR MONEY ON SUITES.
Some Carnival ships have conjoining state rooms. I am going on the Splendor in Sept. and will have a conjoining state room with another couple.
Also, if you don't mind sharing a room, which I could never do because of great cruise sex, some Carnival ships have staterooms that can fit 5. One being the Paradise.
Believe me, if you are in your room for any reason besides taking part in the old in/out, in/out, sleeping or getting dresses, you are cruising wrong.
Since I mentioned getting dressed, this is the only time it would be a huge pain as my wife and I have trouble getting ready for dinner each night in the cramped room.

Forget the suite...save your money.

Talk to a travel agent and tell him/her you would like rooms close together. The rooms have telephones to use on the ship...even for calling other rooms. All you need to know is each others' room numbers...information will have ahead of time.

Actually it's more than that. Normally it's the price per person so you'd think ok 1,849 + 1,849 = $3,698. You divide that by your friends and get $739 per person. Nope.

Cruise ships have a double occupancy per the cabin but there is an additional charge for each person you put in your room. They run specials sometimes when that is like $200 per person extra. B/c you have to pay for the extra towels you are using, the extra food, the entertainment. Plus port fees and taxes which are per person as well. That's something like $50 extra. Then you have automatic tips which are roughly $80 per person that tips the stewards, waiters, etc.

This is very easily going to run you guys $1000 per person. If you split up you can find an interior cabin for something like $350 per person. You won't have as nice a room and no jacuzzi but it will be far less expensive.

You really don't need a suite. You don't spend much time in your room. You'll want to be in the sun and lounging around the ship. BTW just in case you haven't checked this out yet, when you divide up, there has to be someone 25+ in each cabin in order to book (unless a couple of those friends are a married couple).
