Carnival Cruise Ship?

First of all, I might go on a Carnival Cruise Ship.
Which ship's better?
IMAGINATION, INSPIRATION, OR DESTINY

and also, is carnival or royal caribbean better?

Oooh! I'd go with either Imagination or Inspiration. Both have had the full "Evolutions of Fun" renovations so have a great new water park at the back, plus some new dining options and are generally all spruced up.

Some great pictures of Imagination here:

Inspiration will be basically the same, just different colors.

Destiny is a good ship too, and does have a water slide (all Carnival ships do), but I like the new bells and whistles.

Regarding Carnival vs. RCI, it really depends on what matters to you. In general, I find that Carnival ships are more "fun" -- better nightlife, the entertainment staff get people in a good mood, it's just livelier. RCI, on the other hand, tends to be more "polished" which means slightly nicer ships but the atmosphere can be a little dead. Both have pretty good food.

Destiny was full of fun. Have only traveled on 2 Cruise Lines, Carnival and Royal Princess. I liked Carnival it truly was the fun ship. Enjoy your cruise.

I would pick the Destiny. It has a 4 star rating and the other 2 ships are only a 3.5. I have sailed on both the Inspiration and the Imagination when they were a lot newer and back then had a 4 star rating. They sail full with about 2 thousand people. The Destiny was built in '96 and refurbished in 2000 and 2005. Its capacity is about 3 thousand passengers and has newer and more amenities. The last Carnival ship I've been on is the Valor which is very similar to the Destiny. Having said that, the only bad cruise is the one I'm not on. Bon Voyage.

Those are all "old" Carnival ships, so they may not have all the "bells & whistles" you might want. Would probably be OK for a first-time cruiser and you'd probably find some good deals, too. Destiny usually sails out of San Juan, so you'd have the extra expense of airfare to/from there.

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Reviews" at the top of the page and read the "Member Reviews" to get opinions from past cruisers. You might also want to check out the "Boards" section.

All ships are good. Go to the website and click on ships to see what they look like. Also you can do an images search on Yahoo! to see pictures. YouTube has home videos made on these ships too. A couple of Carnival's ships have recently been refurbished including WaterWorks water parks on board.

I was on carnival freedom this past april we had a ball went to mexico,Jamaica and the grand cayman loved it so much to do and good for all ages my son is 9 my husband and I are 40 we went with the whole family mom and dad are in there 60s my sister is 28 my niece is 17 and we all had plenty to do dancing, gambling, golf, pools, contests,I could go on and on the food was great. But I heard royal caribbean is better just alittle bit expensive but I'm sure it will be well worth it have fun we are planning another cruise in 2010 cant wait I like to go with royal the next time
