We took the Conquest for Spring Break this year.

We had a balcony cabin on the right side of the Verandah Deck (8).

We took the Ecstasy (a smaller ship) and we were on the left side of the ship.

I don't really recall any difference between left and right. Only difference was because of the size of the ship.

Do take note of where your assigned cabin is in reference to other places on the ship.

Avoid cabins at the very front of the ship on Deck 2 and 6. These are below and above the theater and the shows are very loud.

The back of deck 8 is below the pool, casual dining room and 24 hour pizzeria.

Deck 7 is good and the front of the ship for Deck 8.

Don't miss the Warn Chocolate Melting Cake in the dining room. To die for!

She is a very nice ship.

Itinerary is a bit of a drag because you are out to sea the first two days and then you have a port of call for 3 days straight. By Saturday, you are wiped out.

Recommend the Sea Turtle excursion in Grand Cayman but skip the one that goes to Hell and the Turtle farm. Those side trips take too much time for what you get.

A really neat thing to watch is when she returns to Galveston. They spin the ship around in the channel. About 6:00 am.

I wasn't aware one side of a ship was "better" than the other side. Whatever side you choose, I hope you enjoy your cruise.

Actually it doesn't matter which side...if you have any problems with motion sickness, you may want a cabin on a lower deck close to the center of the ship. We have been on the Conquest 3 times and enjoyed it each time.

right or left only on the deck, the left (port) side is the side they allow smoking (so i try to stay to the right)

as far as picking a room I prefer the bow (front) over the stern (back) but it is all preferance.

In the end once you are on the ship all is good
