Carnival cruise--can you carry packs of pop/water onboard?

I have heard/read that you can carry on 12packs of pop & bottled water to save money? Is this true?

We have taken on Pepsi (can't stand Coke), bottled water, juice boxes (for our daughter). We packed them in a plastic bin, slap on a cabin sticker, give to the porter with a tip.

Beer and alcohol, other than wine, isn't allowed. If it's found, it will be confisicated and given back to you after the cruise. If you buy booze in a port, usually it will be kept for you until after the cruise.

The cruiselines are screening your luggage and carryons more carefully. But I haven't heard about anyone's water and pop being confisicated.

If you don't mind Coke products, you can probably save money by buying the card. There will be tables set up all over on most ships on the first day to pitch their cards.

If you want to know about their rules on carrying beverages onboard, call and ask... each cruise line has it's own rules... Don't bother taking soda and water though. The cruise will have a soda package usually for about 40 dollars that allows you unlimited consumption over the week. And water is always free. However I have a tip if you are going to be consuming alcoholic beverages onboard. They can get pretty pricey and rack up quite a tab over the week. To save a little money, my husband and I have always packed a bottle of rum into our checked luggage (it has never been searched by the cruise ship and if they did the worst that would happen is that they'd take it away)... then we buy the unlimited soda package (which always includes a neat little travel cup) and we put a little rum in the cup in our room... At the bar we just order a coke and mix it ourselves... Voila... free rum and coke. My mom is a travel agent and suggests this to all her clients to save on the bar tab... hope i helped

Yes within reason. No need to carry water as the ships water is as clean and pure as bottled, just take a waterbottle to carry it in. Sodas are about $2+ a can but you can obtain a drink card for unlimited drinks onboard. Pepsi products are not available so if that is your choice, bring your own. Best to buy just before boarding or at first port.

There really isn't any rules saying you can't bring these items on borad and I've never heard of people having their pop/water taken away either so i'm sure its worth a try. On my last cruise I did pack several bottles of water and once we got into our room I put them in the fridge. it was nice to have some water available when we were ready to go out on a shore excursion or up to the pool. Keep two things in mind, you can purchase a pop card but you have to get the pop at the bar and they will only serve you one at a time. The service is not the quickest so you will be waiting at least 10 minutes each time you want to get a pop, this will get old very fast. Also, its nice to have drinks readily available in your room. You will soon find out that you are going to get sick of taking the elevator or stairs to get a drink each time you are thirsty. I do reccomend bringing some sort of beverage on board with you just be careful with it since the airlines now watch those things very closely.

You can go to :cruisecritics.com and you can find out anything you need to know about your ship. You can ask questions just like on this site. We took our first cruise a year ago and there was everything I needed to know on this site. But, to answer your question, yes, you can take pop and water aboard. Many people would buy cases of beer at ports and take them aboard. I drink you much coke, that I just bought the card they sell for $25 once your on board and drank to my hearts content for 7 days.

bottled water, Soda, Champange, and wine can be brought onboard if you would like. These items are not free onboard except water, but not in a bottle.

I always thought non-alcoholic drinks are free on most cruises.

Water, coffee , tea and lemonade are free.

You can buy a drink card for soda at about $5-6/day for unlimited soda.

As long as you put the water and pop in your suitcase there shouldn't be a problem.

I know, I know!!!!
you can probably find the answer to your question on their website. good luck.

I would hide it your luggage. When we went be brought bottles of wine and other things. Our bags were never searched. We even left out bottles and the people who cleaned and took care of the cabin never said anything. You are charged for everything on the ship, pop, water, etc.
