Carnival cruise information? |
I am going on a carnival cruise "Destiny" if that meanss anything and I was wondering what are you allowed to bring with you on the ship? Can you bring food along alcohol or soda? Or are these things you have to purchase on the ship? And if so how much do things like this cost? My fiance and I are going on the ship for our hunnymoon and are on a tight budget. We have been together for 6 years and have never been on a vacation. so this is our first which we are very excitted about! But If you can helo me with any other important information that would help that would be great!
Thank you so much! |

I believe you are allowed to take a 6 pack of soda per passenger on board with you. The only alcohol you may take on board is wine and there is a corkage fee if you do. Any alcohol you buy while at your stops will be confiscated and then given back to you at the end of your cruise.
Soda and alcohol on board is a bit pricey, but not too bad if you only want it occasionally. You can also buy Fountain Fun cards, which give you unlimited soda during the length of your cruise. I believe there is something similar for alcohol, but I am not sure.
Have a blast on your cruise. It is the only kind of vacation you'll ever want to take again!! :-D |

I have been on the Destiny, and it's an awesome ship. We snuck booze on board in our luggage, worked for us. All they can really do is take it, but it didn't happen with us. The other person who answered mentioned a soda card, they are a good idea. It gives you a break on price. There is no card for booze like that, unfortunately.
A fun way to find your way around the ship is a bar card. You get a stamp at each bar you visit on the ship, and when you have seen them all, you get a free gift. It helps orient you around the ship and helps you to learn where things are. Watch out for the prices, though!
Bring more than one bathing suit. Don't over pack. Days at sea, sometimes you wear nothing more than a bathing suit and cover up, until you go to dinner. Eat in the dining room, it's well worth it. No extra charge. You can ask ahead of time for a table for 2, or to meet people, a larger table, your choice of what's available when you decide to go down for dinner, that part is nice, too.
You can book your shore excursions online, and the prices are shown, so you know what you have to do and bring. That helped us alot.
You will love the water slide... it's a riot and not just for kids. Go on the days you can, because if you leave it to last and the wind comes up, they close it. It's a blast, and I am an old lady, lol.
You don't have to buy the pictures they take although it is very tempting. You can take your own, and maybe just buy one for a keepsake.
The shows at night are free, like broadway type shows, magic shows, a variety throughout the cruise, also they offer movies during the afternoon. If you get a guide or click on the things to do channel in your room, it can give you alot of fun things to do that are no additional charge.
Make sure you have all your papers in order before you leave, passports, id's, etc. Have a great time and enjoy yourselves. |

Congratulations. I have been on 3 cruises and loved them all. You are allowed to bring limited amounts of bottled water. Pack it away in your bags. Water is expensive on the ship. Sodas and alcohol are beverages that you have to pay for on the ship. Alcohol is usually 6.95 for the first drink of the day and then 4.95 for each drink after that. I don't know of any card you can buy for the alcohol, but for sodas you can buy a fountain card for about $15 per person and you can have unlimited sodas while on the ship. If you drink a lot of soda this is a good deal considering how much you have to pay for a can. But definately pack water in your bags. Just remember you cannot take bottles on the airplanes, you have to pack them in your luggage. Limited amounts only, about 4 bottles each. (big bottles) |

Well first congrats!! You will not need to bring ANY food at all!!! If you want to bring some soda you can, but they are cracking down on alcohol. We never tried, we just spent the extra money because we looked at it as part of our vacation! And plus you are going to be on your honeymoon so you should be catered to! There are different prices for different things. A typical alcoholic drink can cost anywhere between $3 to $15. There was also a Captains night special thing going on with free drinks before dinner. Look out for that and take advantage. Take lots of pics, be involved in EVERYTHING, and try new things. I almost didn't do a stingray swim, or hold a turtle, because I was a little scared, but I did BOTH and got pics and I am so happy I have those memories!! Any other info you want, just ask but you will have an amazing time!!!
Ps- make sure you get a comfortable room because I have a feeling you will be in there quite often ; ) |

I just got off the DESTINY over Christmas Break it was amazing the ship waz very clean and was just refurbished in November. The crew waz very nice and very helpful. im only 15 so im guessing there is a bit of age difference but i think you will love it and everything comes together all the food you want and ice cream. there is this called an fun fountain card you can buy one of those and have unlimited sodas its like 25 dollars. if you dont buy the card wen you go to a bar you have to buy the sodas which are expencive. have a great time the ship is great!!!! and everyday since the cruise i have thought about it alot |
