My honest opinion, Carnival hands down. Food is better, more entertainment, bigger rooms, lower price. There are many itineraries to chose from, many ports of depart from as well.

most definitely go with RCL if u can afford it...if u want to avoid large amounts of children go with RCL because Carnival has so many kids because of it's price...if it's your honeymoon make it count and go on RCL or u will regret it...i've been on 3 RCL cruises (Voyager, Explorer, and Mariner of the Seas) in the past 4 years and they are amazing...the activities, amenities, service, food is delicious, etc...

I've been on RCCL's Majesty of the Seas and loved it. Not too many kids around either.

I have cruised with both Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and I would have to say that I prefer Royal Caribbean. The atmosphere on a Royal Caribbean ship is amazing! I feel like royalty from the minute I board the ship until the minute I leave. Carnival is a nice cruise line, but I did see a lot more "partying" on Carnival which led to more unpleasant images of people being sick and what not. My boyfriend has never been on a cruise before so I booked his first cruise for the two of us on Royal Caribbean this August.

Which ever line you decide to go with, you will undoubtedly have an amazing time, but if you can afford a little more money, you will get a whole lot more in return. Bon Voyage and Congrats on the marriage.

Carnival are the party ships for sure. If you go at spring break there will be tons of young people on them like in their teens to 25 or so. Royal Caribbean has a somewhat older crowd, like in their 30s to 60s. Naturally there are all ages on all ships these numbers are just the average. You do not have to worry about the little kids too much because the cruise line has a separate program for the kids and they keep them out of your way for the most part.

First go to Borders or what ever bookstore you have close to you. Get the book
"CRUISES and Ports of Call". It compares all of the different lines, it talks about all of the possible stops, price, number of kids that might be on board. If you can't make a great decision after that book, you don't need to be going on a cruise. About the only thing that it doesn't answer is how you are going to get the money to pay for it, but there is a section about using credit cards. Good Luck & happy honeymoon. You can't go wrong. I have been on many cruises and I liked each one better than the one before.

They are quite similar in the fact ones stuck on the ship near icebergs and bound to become ill new statistics show....Similar like food poisoning or botulism.

I definitely would try to go for Royal Caribbean. The price difference really isn't that much, many times Royal Caribbean is actually a little less, or the same. I feel that Royal Caribbean is a little cleaner, has better service, nicer rooms, better food, etc. I feel that any extra money you spend would be well worth it.

Carnival is okay, but it does have a lot of kids. A lot of families go onboard because it is less expensive than the other lines and they are known as the fun ships. Some kids love the kids programs, some don't, but everytime I have gone on Carnival there seems to be a lot of kids around, no matter what time of the year it is or anything like that. On Disney, for example, I hardly ever see kids. They are almost always in the kids clubs, there are only certain times when there are a lot of kids. But, Carnival can be pretty noisy and things like that. So, if you are looking for something a little more relaxing and quiet, Royal Caribbean is the way to go. Carnival is also a good place for spring break type events and young adults to go because of the lower prices.

My biggest recommendation would be to go for a newer ship if you go with Carnival, and Royal Caribbean for that matter. A newer ship means newer, better accomodations, more things onboard, etc. Freedom of the Seas is fantastic, I loved it (I can be hard to please!)

I would look for a travel agent that specializes in cruises or look around online to get some pricing and ideas to get you started. That way you will be able to see the difference in prices and see if Royal Caribbean is worth it for you. Some people say a cruise is a cruise, but I don't really agree. The acommodations, food, service, etc. can all make a huge difference.

I've included a link to one of the best resources online for cruises. It has a ton of info and reviews on each ship. They also have message boards and things where you can ask questions.

I'm 42 and have been on 2 cruises (Jan '06 and Jan '07), both were Carnival and I loved 'em both. There were some kids on both cruises, but they weren't an issue at all. People of every age from 20-somethings to seniors.

I've no experience with RC but have heard good things. My guess is ya won't go wrong either way so find a port of call you want to visit or a price you want to pay. This year we found a 'last minute' rate (10 days before sailing) of $179 before taxes so we jumped on it...last year I paid over twice that but don't regret a penny either year.

More food than you can eat and it's available 24 hrs a day...you can get cocktails any time you want as well...good service, entertainment, activities etc. You can fill your day with as much or as little as you care to do.

Decide on Ports-of-Call, dates, availability and whether you want laid back or more formal. Do you want families or more couples.
Carnival is generally less expensive. It's known with good reason as "FUNSHIP" line.
Lots of families. The Carnival cruise I took most people wore baseball hats and NASCAR or BEER T-shirts.
I prefer RC. Fewer kids, nicer facilites, better food and more upscale.

when i got marrried and went on my honeymoon, we went on carnival to the bahamas! it was great! i think the youngest person i seen was about 16-17yrs old. she was there with her grandma. not very many little kids. actually very few.

my first and only cruise was on carnival....yes there were kids there but most of them preferred to hang out in places meant for them. my friends and i spent some time on deck getting that savage tan. took a few shore excursions. hung out in the bars a bit, karaoke, participated in dance lessons. there was always a latin band on deck to entertain. the shows were great and if you could stay up late enuf the comedy shows were a real hoot....laughed till i cried. and one thing they did on this cruise was a "fear factor" event. well i had to do that. came in second place . i gave it my best shot. the room was huge and the service top notch.

I take four cruises a year. My favorite is Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. The food is excellent, activities are plentiful and if you notify them it is a 'honeymoon' they decorate the cabin and you get invited to a honeymooners party. Not only that, but my personal experience was that Carnival could care less if there was a problem. While many others don't mind, I go on a cruise to have a good time, so if the front desk doesn't have time to address problems, then I don't have time for that cruiseline!

Royal Caribbean ships offer everything from ice skating to wave riding, rock climbing, golf, etc. I don't know what you are interested in as far as activities, but I know Royal Caribbean has an awful lot to offer.
