Carry-on Bags?????????

We are driving to Miami and getting married then leaving for our honeymoon that day. I was wanting to know if we could both take 2 carry ons instead of checking them in? If so what are the size limits? I think the biggest we have is a 26". We just dont want to have to go through the check in and check outs. Its the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
Additional Details
We are driving. I havent been in a airport since I was 12 and really dont remember much about it. He has never been in a airport.

The cruise lines all use the same type carry on luggage scanner that the airports use. But since you have not flown you have no idea what that is. But use this as a guide. If it will fit into a space the size of the oven on your stove, it will probably fit through the scanner.

I have been on many RC cruises and they have no problem with your carry on bags; you can even carry on your toiletries (which is different from the airport) and bottled water or sodas. If you have a suit/dress carrier with your wedding dress and/or tux you can carry that on as long as it fits through the scanner.

sure you can carry on your bags. I have done so.
you will have to go thru security however. have a wonderful time.

carry on and off all you can ..they will be x-rayed but if you have to check one might as well check them all(except one with meds and any thing of value)

kimmer727
Yes- they will let you carry them on - but they will put them through an x-ray machine.

A direct answer to your question is, the bag has to fit though the x-ray machine at security. The machines are the same as they use for the airlines, except there is no plastic piece in front to limit the size of the bag. So, if it will fix through a standard security x-ray machine (w/o the plastic guard in place) then you can carry it on.

However, this will not save you any time. You still have to go through security. You still have to check in. As for your bags, all you have to do is drop them off with the porter before you enter the terminal. Getting your bags on board a ship is easier than getting your bags on board an airplane.

Same with check out. You still have to clear customs.

The whole process, both check in and check out, is a lot easier if you are not dragging a couple of pieces of luggage around. Give your bags to the porter when you arrive, then get in line. Your bags will be delivered to your cabin on board the ship. Put your bags out the night before you arrive back in port. Then pick your bags up after you clear customs.

If your talking about flying then ::Size and Number of Pieces
FAA security measures limit customers on all flights to one carry-on bag plus one personal item.

All carry-on pieces, including laptops, must fit either underneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin.

The one carry-on bag must fit in an overhead compartment or under the seat. It should not exceed 45 linear inches (length + width + height) or weigh more than 40 lbs/18 kgs.

Carry-on items which appear too large or irregularly shaped to fit under a seat, in an overhead compartment, or in a closet will not be accepted as carry-on baggage and will need to be checked.

At times, additional limits may be placed on carry-on baggage based on the main cabin stowage capacity of specific aircraft.
These limits may be imposed after the boarding process has begun.

Some carry-on baggage may be stowed in a cargo compartment on selected American Eagle aircraft.
At some airports, carry-on baggage may be more restricted. All other luggage must be checked at curbside or at the ticket counter.
Passengers exceeding the carry-on limit will not be allowed through the security checkpoint.
All portable electronic devices, including laptops, must remain off during taxi, takeoff, approach and landing until we arrive at the gate and the seat belt sign is turned off.
Remember: Carry-on items are counted in the free baggage allowance. Please see Dimensions, Weight, and Number of Pieces.

For a list of articles which may not be carried on board, please see Restricted Articles.

Personal Items
Personal items include the following:
Purse

Briefcase

Laptop

Small book-bag style backpack

Other similar items that do not exceed 36 linear inches (length + width + height) will be allowed such as a small tote bag or shoulder bag.
Additional items that will be allowed above and beyond the restrictions listed above include:
Outer garments such as coats/wraps/hats

Approved safety seat for lap or ticketed child

Umbrella stroller for lap or ticketed child

Diaper bag for lap or ticketed child

Book or newspaper

Small bag of food that is consumable
Assistive devices for passengers such as wheelchairs, walkers and CPAP machines
Therapeutic oxygen provided by the airline

Check in on your cruise faster:

Completing the Online Check-In process for all guests in your reservation will save you from having to fill out forms at the pier, which means your cruise vacation adventure can start right away. When you arrive at the pier, you'll just need your SetSail Pass, credit card for your onboard purchases and appropriate proof of citizenship and identification documentation to board and begin your adventure.

It doesn't matter whether you reserved your cruise online or through a travel agent. To complete your Online Check-In process, you'll need the reservation number, identification documents (international sailings and domestic sailings) and emergency contact information for each guest you want to check in. The process must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the sailing (48 hours for sailings that do not depart from the United States/Canada). If you require technical support assistance with the Online Check-In process or your SetSail Pass, please call (888) 305-2718
I ahve searched their website and found no details about carry on luggage. Please give them a call @ 1-800-327-6700

Size and number of carry on bags allowed depends on the airline. go to the website of YOUR airline to look, or call them.
