Catalina Island?, quick quesitons!? |
Hello,
I am going on a cruise and will be stopping in Catalina Island for the day. I will be hanging out on the beach/jet skiing all day in Ensenada(our other stop). What would you recommend that is a bit different? I was thinking renting a golf cart or glass bottom tour. Any suggestions?

if there is time get on the buss tour but take plenty of snacks (from the ship) the glass bottom boat is a farce and the golf cart goes nowhere you want to go. the bus goes to the bison area and to an inlet on the other side of nowhere and the airport and then back to the casino or you can walk and shop all day also the casino tour (if you like swing dancing), the marlin club (if you like fishing) and the museum are all interesting historical interweaving all the personalities to dawn the decks of catalinas hollywood esque past |

humphh...I have had a lot of fun on a golf cart in Catalina...up the hill to the Wrigley estate, where you can get great photos of your ship in the harbor below. Check out the Arboretum - it has some interesting California Native specimens. Just generally run around and people watch....
I do agree the glassbottom boat tour is pretty lame.

Well I went to Catalina back in May & since it was raining in LA, the weather was overcast out there. There's alot of fun stuff over in Avalon, there's paddle boats, kayaking, the bottom glass tour, scuba diving. They have their own Casino and their beaches are relatively rock beaches. They also had a mini golf course. If you're over 25, you can rent a golf cart, and if you're 18+ you can rent a double bike. Catalina is amazing and there's so much to do. You should also check out their restaurants like the country kitchen. Catalina is a cute little place, walking around and just taking pictures. |
