It should work...........even if its a few bucks a minute thats better than 9.00 plus to use the phone in your cabin. It also helps to wait until you are in a port. (cheaper rates)

I just got off a cruise and I had no service while we were at sea. I typicaly had service on the islands (Bahamas, BVI, USVI and Grand Turk). I have T-Mobile and the website said I also should be able to use the phone on my particular ship, but I didn't try.

The cost of calling from the islands I visted would have been anywhere from $1.99 to $4.99 a minute (according to T-Mobile's site). Needless to say, I didn't call anyone.

I did use my phone as an alarm clock though, since there are typically no clocks in the cabins. Sometimes I had to set the tiem manually as it would be off by an hour for some odd reason.

If your phone does work, you will pay a lot extra to use it. Call your provider before you leave to find out if you have service and if you will have "ship to shore" surcharges.

yes your phone will work on the ship but you need to check with your provider because they will charge you for international calls if calls are made from the ship in international waters. I also have sprint and I do not have international calling so they were going to charge me $5 per minute while I was on my cruise I was able to keep in touch with everyone by email.

in international waters my phone did not even get 1 bar but u will be having to much fun to talk on the phone any way..... Enjoy your trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am pretty sure your cellphone will not work, since you do have Sprint service, hate to tell you but I had Sprint, and It sucked, go with Cingular Wireless, one of the best services you can get. I may be wrong. I don't know if their are cellphone towers on a cruise ship. I'm an expert on Aircraft, I'm a Captain. I'm about to go on my 1st cruise ever in my life, And I cannot wait...
Your going on a cruise, so why not leave your phone at home? I have a laptop and I am leaving it home.. I want to enjoy my cruise with out interruptions. If one of my family has an emergency, they will have the contact info for me. But other wise I don't want to be bothered with phone calls or e-mails, I don't even want to be bothered with Yahoo Q&A, Sorry guys...

But have fun on your voyage!!!
