Cheap cruise to Mediterranean, longer than 7 days over summer. Any advice?

I'm planning on traveling to the Mediterranean over summer but havent booked a cruise yet. I know that waiting to the last minute is a gamble (you can find either dirt-cheap last-minute cruises, or all the cruises are allready booked).

So if you have any cruise secrets and youre willing to share I would greatly appreciate it!!

Also, your websites would be helpful too.

Thanks, Brittni

Hi Brittni,

Waiting to the last minute to book a Mediterranean cruise is more than a gamble. Unlike Caribbean cruises, demand for European cruises has increased, so ships get sold out quicker.

Also, keep in mind that even if you were able to get a last minute bargain on the cruise, you'd need to buy last minute airfare, which for the Summer, in Europe, will be expensive.

My advice is to book as early as you can. Feel free to contact me if you need help deciding which cruise is best for you.

I would definitely get a travel agent who specializes in Cruises. They can often get deals / upgrades and flights which you can't if you buy it on the web.

Get a balcony, its worth the extra.

Excellent question that you ask. Yes it is true that if you wait until the last-minute that prices for cruises are higher, and the choices of rooms are very slim (I am Owner of a Travel Agency). Some things you may want to consider (None were mentioned in your inquiry):

1- Crusing alone or with others?

2- What port do you want to leave from? (Depending on when you want to depart and return plus what your Travel budget is will be a factor in where you would leave from)

3- Do you have up-to-date Travel documents? (Visa/Passport are mandatory for all International travel)

It is adviseable, at least in my opinion, to secure the services of a Travel Agent as they will provide a higher level of service and oftentimes get you something in particular that a mere "travel" website could offer you. In addition, you can often save money that way as well.

I obviously do not know what your Travel budget is or your proposed departure/return date. But I can tell you with certainty is that if you are looking to cruise the Mediterranean, then more than likely the port you leave from will be of European origin. And I can also tell you with confidence is that there are Mediterranean cruise specials at this time. If you could kindly either e-mail me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com or reach me directly through Yahoo Messenger (username: indysteve1563), I can assist you in finding the best cruise available that fits your criteria and that is pocketbook-friendly as well.
