Couple cruise questions, first timer.?

So, for my eighteenth birthday I really would like to go on a cruise.
I have absolutely no idea where to start, I've narrowed it down to two cruise lines, Royal Caribbean or Carnival?
I'm guessing a 5 day caribbean cruise would be sufficient.
I'm planning on taking my boyfriend with me and getting an ocean view room.

First of all, which cruise line is best? (that means pricing also)
Second, How much would it cost for two people for 5 days?

thanks!

You have to have someone over 21 in the room with you. Some cruise lines will make exceptions, like if your parents were staying in the room next door. you will have to call cruise lines to find out.

1500 for a five day cruise for two people sounds about right. It really depends on the cruise line, where you are going, and what time of year it is. To decide what cruise line is the best for you, you should decide where and when you want to go, and compare the ship that are going there. Some ships have ice skating and mini golf, which would make them better to me because i like those things, but if you don't they won't matter to you. No one on here is going to be able to tell you what cruise is best for you.
I liked using cruise.com to compare cruises, but I didn't book with them, I went through a travel agent, but that site from what i have seen is the easiest way to search for cruises. Especially because you don't have to give any personal information until you want to book.
On more piece of advice, don't book a cruise with a boyfriend too far in advance. You never know how your relationship is going to be and you wouldn't want to be stuck going on a trip with an ex, or losing money cause you had to cancel it. No matter how close you are now.

First of all cruise lines do not allow passengers under 21 in a cabin by themselves unless they are married. Sorry.
Cruising is a great way to vacation and very cost effective.

you would have to go with an adult over 21. I think you would like carnival cruise lines. go to vacationstogo.com

Question Guy
Royal Carribbean looks like fun. I think it can cost like 1500 for two people for a 7 day cruise.
http://www.bofads.com/stories/cruise.htm - funny video about cruises to give you a flavor for what its like to be on one.

I loved Royal Caribbean. Everything was perfect. Carnival is more like a frat party. But maybe that's what you want?

The lowest minimum age requirement for any cruise line is 18. The following cruise lines require that at least one person in each cabin is 18 or older: American West Steamboat Company (Majestic America), Cruise West, Cunard, Delta Queen (Majestic America), Fred. Olsen Cruise Line, Oceania, P&O Cruises, Peter Deilmann, Regent (Radisson) Seven Seas Cruises, SeaDream, Star Clippers, and Uniworld.

These are not the most common cruise lines (at least for me - maybe Europe?) so I don't know that much about them. However until you turn 21 you are pretty much limited to the above list. I just did a quick peak on vacationstogo.com on a couple of the lines above and they do appear to be a little more expensive than some of the deals I've gotten in the past. But they do look fun!

Well it would depend what month you are going. If you go on a holiday, it is much more expensive. But say you went in October or something it would cost about $500 per person. So with tax and everything probably about $1200. Now that is for Carnival. Usually Carnival is cheaper. Especially on holidays. But Royal Caribbean would be $430 per night, maybe. So around the same but in this case RCCL is cheaper. It depends what ports you want to go to and what port you are leaving from and what boat you are going on (newer or older). It all depends. I would say go on both websites and pick out 2 or 3 cruises on each website and then go from there. What ever suits you the best. But you would be looking at about a little over a thousand dollars.
Carnival is great for activities and such and is RCCL. Carnival has water slides and movie screens on their boats. RCCL has mini golf (and some Carnival), a surfer thing, and rock climbing wall on their boats. Other than that they are pretty similar. But most of the time Carnival is cheaper. Good luck!

First, you need to meet the age (I'm assuming your BF is 18-20):

Carnival:
1) All passengers in a cabin must be 21 or older, or
2) If anyone in the cabin is younger than 21 years old, someone in the cabin must be 25 or older

Royal Caribbean:
1) at least one person in each cabin is 21 or older

If your BF is 21 or oder then you can cruise with RC. The Enchantment of the Seas sails from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West, Cozumel and back every 5 days. An ocean view will run you about $370 each.
