Cruise Information?

Well I'm 14 & for my 15s my parents wanna take me on a cruise. They said I could pick everything since it's pretty much my birthday present from them. The problem is I have no idea how cruises work. I wanted to qets some opinions on which cruise is best. I kind of like Royal Carribean & Carnival, but like I said I know nothing. I would like to know which is best & what exactly happens when you're on it & when you arrive to wherever you go. Thanks for the help.
Additional Details
I also wanted to stay at Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas since it seems like a cool place to be but I don't know if I'll be able to do that on a cruise. Any Ideas?

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
When you pick a cruise you need to consider where its going AND what's on board the ship to do. Cruises going to the Caribbean and Bahamas offer at their port stops a wealth of beach type activities like swimming, snorkel, scuba, jet ski, para-sailing, and swimming with the dolphins or stingrays.

Caribbean cruises offer more of these activities than do cruises to the Bahamas, mainly because the cruises are longer, and stop at more islands and places where these activities can be had/purchased. My personal preference, based on the many cruises I have done all over the Caribbean, is a Western Caribbean itinerary.

You will have many options for good cruise lines going to the Caribbean including, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Carnival and Celebrity (plus a few others). Princess is a great cruise line with very lovely and well decorated and appointed ships.

Some people will tell you to go on Carnival and it is a cruise line that some people love and others hate. Its a budget line that has some good ships. Lots of families with kids go on Carnival.

Norwegian is a good line if you want things very informal. Celebrity is a great upscale line, close in amenities to Princess.

But Royal Caribbean has more on-board activities than any of the other cruise lines. Royal Caribbean has a really nice web site where you can pull up an interactive model of it's ships and look at photos and/or a 360 degrees view of the ship and its features. Just go to the Royal Caribbean web site and click on "SHIPS" and then select a ship to look at.

Things that are usually always available on Royal Caribbean ships:

- pools and hot tubs

- a full service gymnasium with all types of free weights and exercise machines

- a mini-golf course

- a roller blade track and/or an ice skating rink. If there is an ice rink there will be an ice show like the ice capades

- a rock climbing wall (a RC cruise line exclusive right now)

- a full sized basketball/volleyball/tennis court

- table tennis

- a walking/ jogging track

- a show room where there will be a show every evening, one for each dinner seating

- a game room with games and cards provided

- an internet cafe (you have to pay to use it)

- a library with books provided or bring your own

- Adventure Ocean reserved for kids and a teen disco called FUEL, plus a video arcade (fee to play games)

- some ships have a small movie theater and you can also watch movies (most for free) in your cabin.

I have been on about 20 cruises on four different cruise lines and the cruise that I recommend for you is on one of Royal Caribbean's Freedom class ships, the Freedom of the Seas and/or the Liberty of the Seas (these are identical ships that both do Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings). Here's a link to them: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/class/home.do;jsessionid=0000rKFYXU9X2hu7RrU73ZqD10w:12hdhu87a?shipClassCode=FR&br=R

I have been on the Freedom of the Seas and its a great ship. It has areas specifically for family members of all ages. It has the H2O Zone that is a water park for kids; the Adventure Ocean and Fuel areas that are for kids of all ages. Fuel is a teen disco area that is open for teens until 2:00AM every evening. The Freedom class ships have the rock climbing wall, a mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, an ice skating rink, a fabulous free ice capades type show, THE best gymnasium I have seen on ANY ship, and the flowrider which is a place where kids and adults can body surf right on ship.

I also recommend Royal Caribbean's Voyager Class ships; there are 5 of them and they also cruise the Caribbean. Here's a link to view these ships: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/class/home.do;jsessionid=0000rKFYXU9X2hu7RrU73ZqD10w:12hdhu87a?shipClassCode=VY&br=R
I have cruised on two of them and they are great. They have all of the activities of the Freedom Class ships except the "flowrider" where you can surf right on the ship.

Now I know you said you want to go to Atlantis Hotel but I think you will have a much better time on a 7 day cruise on Royal Caribbean and one which stops at RC's private island called Labadee. It's a private island like the ones that many cruise lines have. But Labadee is THE best private island that I have EVER been on. It has multiple beaches and all types of activities you can pay to participate in like Jet ski, para-sailing, a zip line, an ocean water park and its so huge that you will never feel crowded. I think you will like Labadee much better than the Atlantis.

the cruise that you should go on is the disney cruise and because they have fire works and have educational stuff for kids and they have fun stuff for kids if they just think that you go to the pool and shop for stuff but no they have this teen place where you can just sit down and do stuff. They have this thing that you can sit on and it feels like that your actually driving the ship and dont worry they have stuff for parents or adults to parents can get massages and they have there own pools and they have places to get drinks have some fun they actually have an only parent restuarnt soooo i hope i answered your question.................

Royal Caribbean would be GREAT for your birthday! Every ship has a rockwall, and if you decide to go on the bigger ships (voyager class) then you should know that they have a mall, rockwall, basketball court, ice rink, roller rink, and mini putt putt! And the even bigger ships (freedom class) have all that plus a flowrider (surfing)! They are so much fun!

About the Atlantis hotel, book your cruise and make sure it goes to Nassau. Then once you get off, you can head straight to that hotel and hang out there all day!

I hope you have fun!

a great website for you to go to is http://www.cruiseasy.joystar.com

you can use it to pick a cruise and I personally think royal Caribbean is very good.

Oh, Royal Caribbean is the best cruise line ever. They are amazing. They have the biggest ships with the most innovations and they are awesome. I am 13 and going on our 4th cruise in I think 13 days. It will be our 3rd cruise with Royal Caribbean. I highly recommend you go on either the voyager class ships or the Freedom class ships. They are the biggest ships they have, and the Freedom class ships are the biggest in the world. Well, if you want to find out all about cruising, I would recommend you go to the the cruiselines website, cruisecritic.com, cruisesavvy.com, or royalcaribbeanfan.com. I fing cruisecritic.com very helpful. I love Royal Caribbean so much. We are loyal to royal...lol
