You can not make an 8:00 flight. Miami is a busy airport and you need to be there two hours before flight. A number of things can delay getting off. I have seen people have to wait for hours because of inspections.

lildude211us
you should definitely book a later flight because the ship might get back to the port around 8 am, but its going to take some time to get off since there are other people on there too and it takes time to get to the airport...

if you book that 8am flight you are definitely going to miss it.

You will not make an 8:00 a.m. flight. Most cruises do not return to the departure port [sheculed time, anyway] until 8:00 a.m. Then everyone has to debark, which takes at least 2-3 hours, assuming you're not held up by other passengers' not having gotten cleared by customs as they're supposed to.

Then there is the issue of having to be ready to board your flight one hour before takeoff. And you must also clear security, which can take quite a long time if there are several cruise ships in port at the same time.

Earliest flight you should plan on would be Noon; 1:00 or 2:00 would be better.

You should make a later flight, to be sure and not have to rush everything.

randall_nd
You cannot board your plane on time that early. You need to book return flights no earlier than 11:00 AM. Another alternative is to use the "extend your vacation" by booking a hotel for one night after debarkation through the cruise line. Then you could get an early flight the following day. The savings could exceed the cost of the hotel room.
Ground transportation can also be purchased directly through the cruise line.

Time travler
Usually around 8am, so I would spend a little more money and make a later flight, like around 12 to 2pm. Sometimes on a cruise, the ship doesn't even arrive back in port until around 8am.

I'd bet on not making your flight.

Most cruises begin to depart passengers at 8:30 am and are completed before 11:00am. Sometimes the lines off the ship and through customs are long, so allow several hours to get off the ship and travel to the airport.

WoW, I can't even believe how f*cking retarded some CruiseNoobs are... Do you have any idea how HUGE of a process porting is dummy? You wouldn't even be out of the cruise ship lobby by the time your f*cking plane was taking off idiot. SCHEDULE A LATER FLIGHT, or deal with missing it...............
